Step 1. To make your turtle happy, unfortunately, you have to give it its space, it is a reptile that does not like human contact
Step 2. Feed her a varied and complete diet
Starting from pallets, fresh fruit, radicchio. Avoid giving the shrimp that the vendors push you to buy… in the long run they could make the turtle sick and are not a healthy diet.
Step 3. Make sure your turtle has plenty of room to swim
If the turtle does not grow, perhaps the problem is that it has little water to swim in! Also put on something you can climb to get some air and some sun. A floating log with two holes on the sides is a good idea to create an environment in which the turtle can enjoy himself: he can play hide and seek and sunbathe.
Step 4. Make your aquarium a little more lively by adding some decoration, a treasure chest or whatever else you would put in a fish tank
Add pebbles and rocks, on which the turtle will enjoy climbing.

- To keep your turtle happy, clean the aquarium regularly, maintain a healthy diet and apply UVB-UVA lights.
- Wash your hands before touching it to prevent any residual perfume, lotions, or other products full of bacteria from infecting it. Also wash your hands after touching it, to avoid the risk of contracting salmonella.
- You can think of expanding the reptile family by adding another turtle, to give her someone to keep her company! But get informed first.. some species don't like roommates !!
- Always feed her on the same side of the tank so she will get used to returning to that spot to receive food.
- If the turtle bites, be careful: it means that it is in a bad mood!
- If the carapace gets dirty, clean it with a toothbrush and white vinegar. Do this quickly, as the turtle may get annoyed and make a sharp, sudden movement. (To be done only in case there is limestone on the carapace)
- If one of your turtles is overeating, spread the food in multiple places in the aquarium to allow each animal to get enough food.
- Crickets and worms are a great meal for turtles.
- If she gets nervous when handling the turtle, cover her with a blanket (only for land turtles).

- Don't let her wander around your house alone - she might get lost!
- Do not overfeed it.
- Do not use anything that could break.
- Remember to have it exposed to lights and give it a place to dry.
