Getting everything you like at a discounted price is great, but getting the same items for free is even better. To get companies to send you their products for free, you can try to participate in market surveys, sign up for rewards programs, complain about products, or simply request free samples.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Method 1: Complain about a product
Step 1. Choose a product to complain about
For example, you may have opened a can of soup and found a foreign object inside, floating in the broth.
Step 2. Identify the company's phone number, address and email address to contact it
If you don't find anything on the package, go to the company's website and look for the "Contact Us" button or customer service link.
Step 3. Contact the company
Tell exactly what happened to you. If you have proof of purchase, please provide that as well. Ask to have the product replaced or to send you some for free or a gift card as a refund. Insist, but don't get rude.
Step 4. Wait for the free products
Many companies will send you a free product, or a free product pickup voucher. In some cases, the person who answered the phone will inform you of the future sending, often during the first few lines of the conversation.
Method 2 of 4: Method 2: Enroll in Reward Programs
Step 1. Find out if your favorite store or company has a rewards program
When you sign up, you will most likely get coupons, discount coupons, free product vouchers, discounts based on your purchases or points to accumulate to get rewards of varying importance.
Step 2. Subscribe to multiple programs
This way you will increase the chances of getting free products. For example, using this method in supermarkets, there may be the week in which one of them offers certain products for free, while the following week will be the turn of another… and so on.
Step 3. Focus on the single credit card rewards program
If you are looking to "earn" free products through a credit card program, focus your efforts on a single card in order to maximize your points.
Step 4. Redeem your rewards by the deadline
Many of these programs require you to exchange your points within a set time limit. If you don't, you may lose everything you are entitled to.
Method 3 of 4: Method 3: The Surveys
Step 1. Keep your receipt after shopping or eating at a restaurant
In many cases, you may come across a website asking you to complete a survey about your shopping experiences or dining out. So, take this opportunity to answer all questions. You could win a cash prize, gift card, or discount coupon for your next purchase.
Step 2. Visit the main site of your favorite company
It is very likely that a window may appear asking you to respond to a market survey regarding your experiences with the company in question. If free products or discount coupons are promised in exchange for your time, just answer the questions calmly.
Step 3. Get paid to take surveys
Many companies hire market experts to conduct surveys on their behalf. Such surveys help companies to get feedback on their products and to do a better job of targeting their advertising campaigns. Find a company that pays you to complete these types of surveys, such as the Ipsos Survey Panel, sign up and start responding. If you are chosen for more in-depth surveys, you may receive free products to try at home from a variety of companies.
Method 4 of 4: Method 4: Request Free Samples
Step 1. Write a letter to the company
Let them know how much you love their products and that you are an avid fan of the company.
- Add a personal experience. For example, if you wanted free products from a pet supplies company, write a story about how you used their products to care for your puppies. Try to be as detailed as possible and just as enthusiastic.
- Request free products. Ask the company about the availability of free samples or discount coupons that they can send to you to reward your loyalty as a customer.
Step 2. Ask the companies that interest you if they can give you something for your birthday
Register on their sites and enter your date of birth.
Step 3. Start a blog or a Youtube channel to review various products
Then, you could contact the companies asking if they would like to send you free samples to review. Often times, it is the companies themselves that will send you their free products, in exchange for the advertising provided by your blog.
