In Islam, women are encouraged to follow rules which at times may appear to conflict with Western standards of equity and gender equality. However, one cannot fail to notice how everything Muslim women are told to do is ultimately beneficial to themselves. If you are a Muslim woman who feels she is failing in the fulfillment of her religious duties, it is not too late to change things, regardless of your age or what you have done.
Steps
Step 1. Try to understand that everything will be fine, according to the will of Allah (swt)
Allah (swt) forgives lesser sins because he is the All-Understanding and All-Forgiving One, even when it seems to you that you are too immersed in sin to become a good Muslim, which you can really be.
Step 2. Find out where the negative influences that have led you to turn your back on your religion come from
Perhaps you will trace the cause of this to your family situation, or perhaps to friends who are dragging you down a bad path. Get away from these friends. They will not be with you on the Day of Judgment, when you have to face Allah (swt) alone. If the cause lies in the family, then it becomes a little more complicated. It is in this case that the next steps will help you.
Step 3. Put on the hijab, if you are truly devoted enough to move on and become the best Muslim girl there is
The hijab is not just a piece of cloth that covers your hair, it covers and protects all of yourself, including your charms, words, eyes and heart. It changes you mentally and spiritually. Think of it as a method used by Allah Azza Wajjal to protect women. As soon as you wear the hijab, hopefully, your entire vision of values and self-respect will automatically change. In fact, women are not allowed to pray without the hijab since in a hadith of the Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu 'alayhhi waSallam it says: "A woman's prayer will not be accepted if she does not wear a headdress". The hijab is mandatory: as explained in the Quran 33: 59-60, to be recognized as part of the Islamic community, women should cover themselves, while at 24: 30-31 it is said that women must take off the veil and wear it along. enough to cover the breast, with a "khimar" meaning "something that covers the head". The word has the same root used to indicate alcohol, since the latter is a substance that, when consumed, "covers" and clouds the head and mind.
Step 4. Pray five times a day
Before stepping on the prayer mat, if you learn the meaning of the words of your prayer, you make the contemplation that comes from praying even more intense and effective. If you don't speak Arabic, try to find translated versions of the prayer and take some time to read and understand what those words mean. Start by making prayer an integral part of your day: Eating is one of our primary needs, and our spiritual food is prayers.
Step 5. Read the Quran
Read the Quran and also try to read it in translation to try to really understand its meaning. You can read the translation in Italian. Reading the Quran will help you establish a useful relationship with Allah (swt) and will also allow you to understand how beautiful religion is. And listening to it (you can find videos online) also makes you feel closer to Allah.
Step 6. Find out more about Islam
Know what you have to do (what falls under what is called "wajib") and what you cannot do (the things of the haram). The Internet is a valuable source for researching Islamic laws, regulations and punishments that apply when they are broken. Make sure you go to the right sites to guarantee you the correct source of Islamic information. The punishments may sometimes appear severe to you, but they exist to protect society and guide the faithful on the path of Allah (swt).
Step 7. Allocate a minimum amount of time each day to some Islamic activities - for example, spending four hours for the Salahs, the Qur'an and other Islamic studies will help build your relationship with Allah (swt) and make good progress towards it. acquisition of knowledge
Remember that the five daily blushes as-salah are your top priority, and that you should set the organization of your routine based on these.
Step 8. Wear modest clothing
This doesn't mean that you have to look ugly or that you don't have to dress stylish. Just be modest. Wear longer shirts and try to avoid clothing like tank tops and shorts. Stay away from clothing that is too tight. Remember that it is mandatory to cover the whole body except the face and hands, which you must not necessarily cover, although some scholars prefer to take into account the view that doing so is mandatory, especially followers of the Hanbali school of thought. If you really believe, based on the evidence provided by the latter, that it is mandatory, then go ahead and make an effort to cover your face and hands, so it won't cost you anything. This will also help you change your entire perspective on what is acceptable and what is not.
Step 9. Date good friends
On this issue, you may want friends who share the task of being a good Muslim with you. If you are lucky enough, you may be able to spot a Muslim girl of the same age as you. Make sure you get a Muslim friend, if you find one. You can tell her how you are trying to be a better Muslim, and maybe she will be able to help you out!
Step 10. Avoid negative influences, including those old friends (as difficult as it may be, it will be worth it) who may have had a bad influence on you or who brought out your worst side
While Satan (the devil) may tempt us, it is up to us, as Muslims, to fight these temptations and build courage by increasing our faith and spirituality.
Step 11. Forgive yourself and ask Allah (swt) for any sins you may have committed
You need to let go of past mistakes and work to improve your future. Whatever happened, it's done now. It has passed, and there is nothing you can do to change or improve it. The only thing you can do is forgive yourself, sincerely repent before Allah (swt) and sincerely ask for forgiveness. Let these negative experiences become for you what motivates you to improve and do good.
Step 12. Notice what your weaknesses are and avoid them
This doesn't mean that you should start running every time a guy approaches you, but learn to look down and interact with guys through relationships of mutual respect. Remember that Muslim women of the past, such as business women, teachers and scholars, also interacted with the men in your society, and they were all highly respected and admired; they did not need to flaunt their beauty to gain this respect or to feel secure or even to make their contribution to society. Remember that Allah (swt) is severe in punishment, but he is also the most tolerant and most merciful. However, guys are not people you need in life.
Step 13. Take things on a day-to-day basis
If you make striving to be the best Muslim girl possible a priority, you will achieve this without even realizing it! Whenever you are about to do something, think, "Is it something good or religious?" If it isn't, don't! Simply, remind yourself to always be ready to stop, just in case. Every single moment of every day must be devoted to satisfying Allah (swt).
Step 14. Marry a good man who is a role model for your children
Raising children alongside a wicked man could mean traumatizing them or setting a bad example for them. An unhappy marriage like this will spread evil around the world. If you are already married to a bad person, divorce and fight that hypocrite in the name of Allah (swt).
Advice
- Keep Allah (swt) always in your heart and mind, and take it with you wherever you go.
- Keep in mind that three requirements are required to receive forgiveness from God:
- Recognize the infringement itself and admit it before God.
- Make a commitment not to repeat the infringement.
- Ask God for forgiveness.
- Whenever you feel weak and have no one to talk to, remember that Allah (swt) is always there for you and He is all you need to accomplish your mission.
- Remember that being a Muslim does not prevent you from leading a good life. Have fun, just act within your limits and do what you have to do as a Muslim, like pray. Being close to Allah (swt) not only allows you to have a better afterlife, but also inshallah a more enjoyable life.
- Seek knowledge. Trust me, you will love doing it. Whenever you learn a new thing about Islam, you will feel proud that you are a Muslim.
- Recite many Duas (supplications).
- Remember that Islam does not forbid having fun and having a good life. Just do what is obligatory and avoid what is sin. This will make your life better.
- Do lots of good deeds, especially during Ramadan!
- Remember that when you feel sad, Allah (swt) is always preparing something for you!
- Don't do something just because others do it. Do it for yourself and be proud.
- Before going to sleep, think about everything you did during the day. This daily reflection will help you see where you are wrong and make the necessary changes to your behavior as a result.
- Say the five Salahs (prayers) every day and never forget a single prayer.
- Learn as many Duas (supplications) as you can, like the Dua for before going to bed, the Dua for before you start eating, etc., and you will feel the positive impact they will have on your life. If you recite the Dua first before you eat, you will not only have the blessings of Allah (swt) on your food, but you will also be doing good deeds for as long as you eat!
- If something unpleasant happens, do not get angry with Allah (swt), because we are mere human beings and it is impossible for us to recognize His design on everyone and everything. Evidently what happened had to happen.
- Be patient at all times. "Allah" wants to test you. "Allah" created jinn and men to worship Him.
Warnings
- At first, a change of this magnitude might turn out to be very different from what you expected, but being a good Muslim is possible.
- Whatever happens, don't give up.
- Just try to be a good Muslim. Keep thinking about the extent of the improvement you are about to make and think about how happy you will make Allah (swt). Just try and never give up. Continue reading the Koran, take part in the hajj and think about how happy you will be. Remember to do your five mandatory prayers a day.
