Sweat, dirt and cosmetics can accumulate on the skin, blocking the pores. Those of the nose are particularly visible in case of occlusion. By keeping them clean, not only will they be less noticeable, they will also be less likely to get acne-causing infections. Clean them naturally with an oat solution or by applying lemon juice. You can also use artificial products such as scrubs and blackhead patches.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Naturally Clean the Pores
Step 1. Clean your nose pores with oats
With a spoon, mix well 1 cup of rolled oats and 1 cup of boiling water. Once the mixture has become cold to the touch, apply it to your nose (and the rest of your face if you want), leaving it on for about 2 minutes. Rinse with cold water.
To prevent the mixture from leaking, you can soak a clean, lint-free cloth and adhere it to your nose
Step 2. Use lemon juice once a week
Citric acid will exfoliate and unclog the pores. Apply juice or rub a lemon wedge directly onto your nose. Leave it on for 1-5 minutes depending on your degree of skin sensitivity and rinse it off with warm water.
While this technique is effective for doing an occasional cleansing, you will see better results by repeating it once a week
Step 3. Use the egg whites
Separate the egg white from the yolk in a bowl. Wash your face with a mild soap and warm water. Apply the egg white to your nose with a clean sponge or lint-free cloth. Once it's dry, rinse it off. That's all!
After rinsing, apply a non-comedogenic moisturizer to avoid blocking the pores
Step 4. Open and purify pores with steam
Fill a large bowl with boiling water. Wrap your head with a towel and carefully bring it close to the bowl. The towel will trap the steam, warming the face and clearing the pores. Stay in this position for about 10-15 minutes.
- Be careful. Boiling water and steam can cause burns. Slowly bring your face to the surface of the water to assess its temperature.
- To clean your nose thoroughly, pour essential oils into the water. You can use that of eucalyptus, peppermint and tea tree. The latter is particularly effective for acne-prone skin.
Part 2 of 3: Using Skin Care Products
Step 1. Smooth your nose
Electronic exfoliating devices, such as brushes with rotating bristles, are very effective in cleaning pores thoroughly. Follow the instructions in the manual to get a good result. Generally it is necessary to slightly moisten the bristles with warm water and massage the device on the face.
- To make cleaning even more effective, squeeze a mild detergent onto the bristles of the brush before using it;
- This device also has another advantage: it can make pores less visible.
Step 2. Free the pores with a scrub, about 2-3 times a week
Follow the instructions on the package to get a good result. In most cases it is simply necessary to dilute it with warm water and massage it on the nose forming a nice lather. Leave it on for a few minutes and rinse.
- If you have dry skin, try a creamy exfoliating product. If it's oily, consider a salicylic acid scrub.
- These products are generally available in perfumery and cosmetic stores.
Step 3. Free the pores with a charcoal mask, which cleanses them thoroughly to remove sebum and blackheads
It is a product that can be found in perfumery and in shops that sell cosmetics. Each has different instructions, so read the label to get to know them.
Step 4. Eliminate blackheads with special patches
Squeezing the pores to release them or squeezing out the pus can further irritate the skin and make it even more impure. Instead, it is preferable to apply patches following the instructions on the package. Once the application time has passed, tear off the patch to remove dirt from the pores.
Being particularly sticky, use them with caution in case of sensitive skin
Part 3 of 3: Keeping the Pores Clean
Step 1. Wash your face twice a day, morning and evening
This is the most effective way to keep pores clean. For washing, use warm water and a mild detergent, then rinse with cold water. Wash your face even after engaging in activities that cause sweating.
Products specifically formulated for your skin type help keep pores under control. Those with oily skin are particularly prone to blockages, so you need to use a targeted cleanser
Step 2. If you wear makeup, don't go to sleep wearing makeup
In addition to damaging the skin in general, make-up residues also contribute to the clogging of pores. Remove your make-up as usual using warm water and a mild cleanser.
Forgetting to remove your make-up once doesn't cause permanent damage to your skin, but going to sleep with makeup every night will cause deeper and deeper blockages
Step 3. Use sunscreen
Sun exposure can cause the skin to deteriorate, making it less elastic. As a result, the pores may appear more dilated than normal. To prevent this, apply sunscreen to your nose before engaging in outdoor activities. Wear a wide-brimmed hat to keep the sun from hitting your nose too much.
Many moisturizers contain a low sun protection factor, such as SPF 15 or 30, which is recommended for being outdoors;
Step 4. If the problem persists, see a dermatologist
In case the techniques outlined in this article don't work, see a dermatologist. He may prescribe specialized treatment, such as laser, extraction, topical medications, and more.
