A leaking pipe could result in a costly increase in your bill in a short time. You will need to know the way to fix the problem quickly until you can replace the hose or contact a plumber. With just a few steps, you will be able to temporarily stop the leak while still having running water.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Stop Leaking Until You Can Repair or Replace the Hose

Step 1. Close the valve that supplies water into the pipe

Step 2. Open the tap to drain any water still in the hose

Step 3. Dry the tube with a cloth or towel
Let it dry completely before proceeding.

Step 4. Use a putty knife to put some epoxy on the leaking area

Step 5. Cover the leak with rubber
Make sure it's completely covered before proceeding.

Step 6. Tighten a clamp around the gum and let it sit for at least an hour

Step 7. Use water-resistant tape to cover the gum once it has dried
This will serve as double protection.

Step 8. Open the water valve again and make sure there are no leaks
Method 2 of 2: Remove the Tube if there is a Large Leaking

Step 1. Measure the size of the pipe and purchase a replacement from your hardware store or home improvement store

Step 2. Turn off the water and empty the pipes

Step 3. Use a metal saw to cut the damaged piece of pipe

Step 4. Sand the ends of the remaining pipe sections

Step 5. Solder the new piece in place if it is a copper pipe
Other types of piping will allow you to purchase a replacement along with connection joints.

Step 6. Tighten the seams to make sure they don't leak

Step 7. Turn the water back on
Advice
- Keep supplies on hand so you can quickly stop the leak.
