This article explains how to draw the sweet and nice Sailor Moon, protagonist of the homonymous manga and anime.
Steps
Step 1. To create the head, draw an oval shape and two guidelines inside it:
one vertical (for the mouth and nose) and one horizontal (for the eyes and ears).
Step 2. Create a sketch of the body using geometric shapes
Draw a long curved line to represent body movement, a vertical rectangle for the torso and a horizontal rectangle for the bottom. Draw straight lines to create the arms and legs (adding circles for the joints). Sketch rectangles to make the hands and feet.
Step 3. Create the shape from the body starting from the "skeleton" of the sketch
Draw the contours of the body and shape the face, hands and feet. Make sure you define your waist and chest. Also, remember that the thighs should be slightly thicker than the lower legs.
Step 4. Create the face
Draw the left eye open and the right closed, a small nose and mouth (open and laughing) following the guidelines. Draw the eyebrows. Add a tousled fringe on the forehead and two buns on the ends of the head (with typical Sailor Moon accessories). Draw a V-shaped tiara on the forehead.
- Don't forget to draw Sailor Moon's right hand on her face. It should make the sign of peace sideways.
- Erase the guidelines carefully.
Step 5. Cover your body with clothing
Design the sailor costume: pleated skirt, bows on the back and chest (with a round brooch in the center), long gloves and boots below the knees (each marked with a crescent). Draw long ponytails under the buns.
Add some crescent-shaped earrings and a necklace with a small crescent
Step 6. Color the drawing
Usually Sailor Moon's costume is red, white and blue (as shown in this article), but you can choose another color palette as well.
