Drawing mazes is a fun activity; Just to name a few, you can use them as puzzles, logos or as a form of decorative art. This article tells you how to draw a maze. As long as you have patience, you will realize that it is really very easy.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Simple Maze
Step 1. Draw a cross
Add four points at the corners of the imaginary square.
Step 2. Draw a curved line connecting the top end of the vertical line with the top right point
Step 3. Draw another curved line connecting the right end of the horizontal line with the top left point
Step 4. Draw a large curved line connecting the left end of the horizontal line with the lower right point
Step 5. Extend the vertical line down, and connect the end with the bottom left point
Method 2 of 2: Complex Maze
Step 1. Draw eight concentric circles, leaving a small circle that will act as the center of the maze - the concentric circles are located one inside the other, just like the dart board game
To make things easier, number the circles from 1 to 8; start by assigning the number 1 to the outermost circle and proceed inwards - later we will refer to this numbering to indicate the circles; therefore, if you decide not to physically number them, make sure you know what the number 1, the number 2, and so on would be
Step 2. Draw a flower-shaped figure in the center of the maze
This is the center of most mazes.
The flower must be perfectly symmetrical (that is, by drawing a straight line that passes through its center, you will always have to obtain two identical halves). If you can't get such a result right away, try redrawing the flower until you succeed
Step 3. Draw two horizontal lines and four vertical lines inside the maze, being careful not to go through the center
The lines must be aligned with the center of the maze, and must be evenly spaced.
Step 4. Erase the lines so you get the maze passages
Starting from the horizontal line on the left, delete the part corresponding to circles 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7. Now delete part of the circumference of circle number 4, as shown in the figure.
When you erase the lines, try to keep the size of the passage equal to the distance between the circles
Step 5. Erase the vertical line at circle number 1, leaving the rest intact
Now delete the part of the circumference of circles 3, 5 and 7.
Step 6. Erase the horizontal line at circle number 7, leaving the rest intact
Erase the part of the circumference of circles 2, 4 and 6.
Step 7. Erase on the vertical line on the left, the parts corresponding to the circles number 3, 4 and 7
Instead, leave the second vertical line intact. Erase the third vertical line at circle number 7, and leave the rest intact.
Step 8. Continue by deleting part of the circumferences of the circles, in order to complete the steps of the maze
- On circle number 1, delete the part of the circumference between the first and second vertical lines.
- On circles number 2 and 6, delete the part of the circumference between the first and third vertical lines, and also a part of the circumference to the left of the first vertical line.
- On circles number 3, 5 and 7, delete the part of the circumference between the first and third vertical lines, and also a part of the circumference to the right of the third vertical line.
- On circle number 4, delete the part of the circumference between the second and third vertical lines.
- On circle number 8, delete the part of the circumference between the second and third vertical lines.
Advice
- Try to be patient. The mazes must be tested!
- The instructions in this article can be used for both drawing on paper and on the monitor. Try both solutions to figure out which one you prefer.
