Method 1 of 2: & Simple
Step 1. Draw an oblique line facing the upper left corner of the paper
Step 2. Look at the image and add a curved line
It will have to form an inverted drop at the top of the oblique line.
Step 3. Extend the curved line down to form a semicircle
Step 4. Perfect your drawing and keep practicing
Method 2 of 2: An Easier Method
This writing method is much simpler and more commonly accepted. It also reveals the origins of the & symbol, deriving from the Latin word "et".
Step 1. Draw an "E"
Step 2. Intersect it
Advice
- Make sure the ends of the & intersect.
- Ampersand resembles a backward cursive 'S'.
Warnings
- In step 3, extend the semicircle beyond the oblique line to get a perfect &.
- The ampersand is very similar to an 8 (eight).
- At the first attempts you will have some difficulties, do not give up.
