Step 1. Separate the celery stalks from each other

Grab a stem and gently pull it from the bottom until it breaks. Repeat the process with all the stems until they are completely separated. Separate stems are much easier to cut.

After separating the stems, wash them one at a time under tap water to remove all dirt residues.

Cut the celery into thin, crescent-shaped slices. You should get washers about 3-6mm thick. To get larger slices, you can cut the celery by tilting the knife. This way you will have longer but equally thin slices.

Cut the celery lengthwise to obtain 2-3 even strips. Then, cut each strip into 4-5 cm long sections so that it is shaped like a stick.
