Steps
Method 1 of 2: Simple Amaretto Sour
Step 1. Fill a shaker half full with ice cubes
You don't have to be perfect in this step.
Step 2. Pour the amount of amaretto you want into the shaker
Some people insist that the proportions between amaretto and sweet and sour mix should be 1: 1, while others say they should be 2: 1. It all depends on the flavor you want to get, more sour or creamier with a nutty aftertaste. You can use the amaretto of your choice such as Lazzaroni or DiSaronno which are the best.
Step 3. Add the sweet and sour mix
If you have decided to make a drink with the aspect ratio of 2: 1, then add 45 ml of amaretto and 22 of sweet and sour mix. If you prefer to stick to an even proportion, then you should pour in 45ml of amaretto and 45ml of sweet and sour. In truth, the latter is nothing more than a mixture of water, sugar and lemon juice. If you really want to make the cocktail personal, you can also make this ingredient yourself. Replacing the industrial product with fresh lemons will give the drink a whole new flavor.
Step 4. Shake well
The ingredients must combine perfectly.
Step 5. Strain the mixture into a glass with ice
Straining the cocktail and pouring it onto new ice cubes makes it really fresh and great.
Step 6. Garnish the glass
So that the drink is also beautiful to look at, add a slice of orange, a slice of lemon or a sour cherry or two.
Step 7. Serve the amaretto sour
Enjoy this delicious cocktail as it is or accompany it with fruit, a dessert or a sweet snack.
Method 2 of 2: Amaretto Sour Extravagante
Step 1. Pour all the ingredients into a shaker and shake them well
All you need is amaretto, bourbon, lemon juice, simple sugar syrup and a beaten egg white. Shake for at least 15 seconds until the mixture becomes perfectly homogeneous.
Step 2. Add crushed ice to the shaker and continue shaking
This will cool the ingredients after they have been mixed.
Step 3. Filter the contents of the shaker on top of the new ice
The drink should be drunk in old fashioned glasses. If you want a touch of originality, wet the edge of the glass with lemon juice and then dip it in sugar to enhance the sweet taste of the drink.
Step 4. Garnish
You can garnish this version of the amaretto sour with lemon zest or black cherries.
