In Minecraft, anvils can be used in the repair of tools, weapons and armor or to chain or lock objects. You can build an anvil using 3 blocks and 4 iron ingots or using 31 iron ingots directly.
Steps

Step 1. Get the material
- You will need 31 ingots or 3 iron blocks.
- If you already have 3 iron blocks you can proceed directly to the construction of the anvil.

Step 2. Make 3 iron blocks
You can do this by accessing the construction grid and placing an iron ingot in each of the nine available spaces.

Step 3. Build the anvil
- Arrange the 3 iron blocks in the top three squares of the construction grid.
- Place 1 iron ingot in the center space.
- Arrange 3 iron ingots in the lower three squares of the construction grid.

Step 4. Drag your new anvil into your inventory
Advice
- The anvil can be damaged or even broken. So use it with caution, unless you have a lot of iron available.
- Anvils can fall like sand or gravel, and being very heavy they can seriously injure or kill both players and monsters.
