Iron golems are large, tough monsters that protect villages. They can be randomly spawned within a village, but most towns are too small for that to happen. You can create an iron golem yourself in all updated versions of Minecraft, including the Pocket Edition.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Building the Golem
Step 1. Make four iron blocks
To make an iron block, fill the crafting grid with nine iron ingots. You need four iron blocks (36 ingots) for each golem.
If you are low in iron, learn how to find more in a short time
Step 2. Collect a pumpkin
You can find them on any grass block that only has air on it (but not in tall grass or snow) and are more common in the lowland biome. You need a pumpkin for each golem.
You only need one pumpkin to start a farm and grow as many pumpkins as you want. To get started, turn the pumpkin into four seeds in the crafting grid. Plant the seeds in the soil near the water, leaving an empty block of soil for each seed. The pumpkins will grow on the empty blocks
Step 3. Find an open area
You need a space at least three blocks wide and three blocks high, but it's a good idea to work in a larger room. If you build the golem too close to a wall, it is possible that it will be created inside the wall and suffocate.
Before starting, remove any tall grass and flowers in the area. In some cases, these items prevent the golem from being created
Step 4. Place the four iron blocks in the shape of a T
Put one on the ground. The other three must be arranged in a row above the first, forming a "T". This is the golem's body.
Step 5. Place the pumpkin on top of the T
Place it on top of the central block, so that the structure looks like a small cross. The blocks will immediately animate and become an iron golem.
The pumpkin must be added last, otherwise you will not be able to create the golem
Part 2 of 2: Using the Iron Golems
Step 1. Let the iron golem protect the village
If the monster senses the presence of a nearby village, it will reach it and start patrolling the buildings. This defense system is not as effective as impenetrable walls and torches, but it does give you the chance to see the golem giving flowers to the inhabitants.
Contrary to what naturally created iron golems do, the ones you build will never attack you, even if you hurt them or hit villagers
Step 2. Lock the golem in a fence
If you'd prefer your personal golem to stick around and not stray to protect distant villages, surround it with barriers. The golem will remain stationary even if you surround your house with vines.
Step 3. Tie him to a leash
Thanks to this solution you can have the golem follow you, or tie him to a fence (even if tied up he will not be able to defend him well). To make the leash, you need four strings and a ball of jelly.
Advice
Build the barriers or fence before creating the golem
Warnings
- If you build a golem against a wall, there is a chance it will spawn inside the wall and die.
- It is not possible to create a golem on the crafting table.
- You have to manually place the last block of the iron golem and you can't use pistons!
- While player-created golems are not supposed to attack your character, some Pocket Edition users have reported a bug where they were attacked after hitting their golem.
