Hatches are doors in the floor, useful for storing objects outside your structure and for getting out and in quickly even from the floors. Hatches fill the space of a block.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Find the Materials
Step 1. Find 6 wooden planks
Wooden planks are created by cutting down a tree and turning the trunk into planks.
Method 2 of 3: Create the Hatch
Step 1. Place the 6 wooden planks on the work table
Fill the grid as follows:
- Arrange 3 wooden planks in the 3 central spaces
- Arrange 3 wooden planks in the 3 lower (or upper) spaces.
Step 2. Transfer the 2 newly created hatches to your inventory
Click and hold the shift key or drag them.
Method 3 of 3: Using Hatches
Step 1. Use hatches in your facility
Hatches can be used for:
- Prevent falls.
- Prevent outsiders from entering an area.
- Stopping a flow of water, snow, rain or lava in your area.
- Act as openings in a worktop, for example a bar area.
- Allow light to filter through and do not block redstone signals.
Step 2. To place a trap door, place it on the side of a solid block
It's the only way to do it. Then you can build them around with other blocks.
Step 3. Open a hatch
Click on it. It will flip over on the block it is attached to.
