This article explains how to access a shared folder on a Windows computer from an Android device using the ES File Explorer app.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Install ES File Explorer
Step 1. Access the Google Play Store by selecting the corresponding icon
It is normally visible within the "Applications" panel.
Step 2. Type the keywords es file explorer into the search bar
It is displayed at the top of the screen.
Step 3. Select the ES File Explorer app
It features a blue folder icon and a white cloud.
Step 4. Press the Install button
It is green in color and is located at the top right of the Play Store page.
Step 5. Press the Accept button
The ES File Explorer program will be downloaded and installed on your smartphone or tablet. Once the download is complete, the application icon will automatically be added to the "Applications" panel of the device.
Part 2 of 2: Accessing a Shared Folder
Step 1. Connect the device to the same Wi-Fi network that the computer on which the shared folder you want to access is stored
Step 2. Launch the ES File Explorer app
Tap the blue folder icon with a white cloud inside. It should be displayed within the "Applications" panel.
Step 3. Slide your finger across the screen from left to right to view the pages that make up the initial tutorial
Step 4. Press the Get Started button
The main application screen will be displayed.
Step 5. Select the Network option
It is listed inside the left sidebar at the bottom of the screen. The program's network features will be displayed.
Step 6. Choose the LAN item
It is displayed at the top of the appeared list.
Step 7. Press the Scan button
It is displayed at the bottom of the app screen. The ES File Explorer program will scan the network your smartphone or tablet is connected to for other devices.
Step 8. Tap the name of the computer where the shared folder you want to access is stored
Computers are listed by their IP address.
Step 9. Log into the computer using an existing user account if required
Step 10. Select the folder you want to access
The contents of the selected directory will be displayed within the ES File Explorer app screen.
