WhatsApp offers the ability to cross out text, an effective function to highlight a change or correction made to a user's message. Just add the following character: "~".
Steps
Method 1 of 2: iOS

Step 1. Open WhatsApp

Step 2. Tap Chat
It is located at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3. Tap the conversation in which you want to strike out some text

Step 4. Tap the text field at the bottom of the screen:
the keyboard will open.

Step 5. Type your message up to where you want to strike through the text

Step 6. Add the following symbol:
~. This will activate the function that allows you to strike through the text.
On iOS devices, you can find the symbol by tapping the 123 or.? 123 button, then "# + =". Tap the ~ button: it's fourth from the left in the second row of keys

Step 7. Write the part you want to cross
Do not insert spaces between the "~" character and the first letter of the text you want to cross out.

Step 8. Add another "~" at the end of the section you want to tick to disable the feature
Do not insert spaces between the end of the section and the "~" character. The text that will be found between these symbols will be crossed out in the box

Step 9. Write the rest of the message

Step 10. Tap the arrow to send it
The message will appear in the chat history and the text will appear crossed out, but the "~" symbol will not be visible.
Method 2 of 2: Android

Step 1. Open WhatsApp

Step 2. Tap Chat at the top of the screen

Step 3. Tap the conversation you want to strike through

Step 4. Tap the text field at the bottom of the screen to open the keyboard

Step 5. Type your message up to where you want to strike through the text

Step 6. Enter the ~ symbol to activate the function
On Android devices you can find it by tapping Sym at the bottom left, then 1/2. Tap the ~ character. It's second from the left in the second row of buttons

Step 7. Type the part you want to cross out
Do not insert spaces between the "~" character and the first letter of the section you want to cross out.

Step 8. Add the "~" symbol at the end of the section you want to cross to disable the feature
Do not insert spaces between the end of the strikethrough section and the "~" symbol. The text between these two characters will appear crossed out in the box

Step 9. Write the rest of the message

Step 10. Tap the arrow to send it
The message will appear in the chat history. The text will appear crossed out without the "~" character being visible at the beginning and end of the section.
