This article explains how to activate the fast charging of your smartphone. To use this feature on Samsung products, you need to change the device configuration settings and use a charger that is compatible with adaptive fast charging. In the case of all other Android devices produced by other brands, just use the supplied charger. To use fast charging on iPhone you will need to use a USB-C to Lightning cable and a charger with a power of at least 30W.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Samsung devices
Step 1. Launch the Settings app
It features a gray gear icon. It is usually located on the Home or in the "Applications" panel. Alternatively, you can perform a search. If you prefer, you can open the notification panel by sliding your finger down from the top of the screen and tap the gear icon located in the upper right corner of the panel that will appear.
Adaptive Fast Charging is available on the following devices in the Samsung Galaxy range: S10e, S10, S10 +, Note 9, S9, S9 +, Note 8, S8, S8 +, S7, S7 Edge, Note 5, S6, S6 + and S6 Edge
Step 2. Tap on Device Assistance (on Android Pie) or Device maintenance (on Android Oreo).
You may need to scroll down the menu to be able to select the indicated option.
Users who use the Android Nougat operating system will have to select the item Advanced functions and choose the option Accessories and then jump directly to the last step of this section.
Step 3. Tap the Battery tab (only for Android Pie and Oreo)
You may need to scroll down the menu to be able to select the indicated option.
Step 4. Press the ⋮ button (only on Android Pie and Oreo)
It is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 5. Select the Settings item (only on Android Pie and Oreo)
It is normally one of the options listed in the dropdown menu that appeared.
Step 6. Activate the cursor
"Quick charge "by moving it to the right.
In order to take advantage of the fast charging mode of your device, you will need to have a charger (equipped with a USB-C connector) that is compatible with Samsung's "Adaptive Fast Charging" feature.
Method 2 of 3: Take Advantage of Fast Charging on Android Devices from Other Brands
Step 1. Get the device charger
This tool is sold with all Android devices and natively supports fast battery charging. If for any reason it is no longer in your possession, get a replacement by purchasing it on the smartphone manufacturer's website or directly from an electronics store.
Some smartphone models, such as Huawei, do not allow the user to activate or deactivate the fast charging mode, so in order to take advantage of this feature you will need to use a compatible connection cable and charger. Conversely, if you prefer to charge your smartphone battery in the traditional way, you will simply have to get a connection cable and a charger that do not support fast charging
Step 2. Plug the USB connector of the connecting cable into the charger port
If you have chosen to use a power source other than the charger that came with your device, you will most likely not be able to take advantage of the fast battery charging mode.
Step 3. Plug the charger into a power outlet
Step 4. Connect the other end of the cable to the communication port on your Android device
Do not apply excessive force and stop immediately if you feel resistance to avoid damaging the cable connector or the device.
The fast battery charging mode is activated automatically as soon as the smartphone is connected to the charger. The device should emit an acoustic signal to indicate that the battery is being charged and the icon depicting a battery with a stylized lightning bolt inside should have appeared on the screen
Method 3 of 3: Activate Fast Charging on iPhone
Step 1. Get your smartphone charger
Since the connecting cable and charger that come bundled with your iOS device are not compatible with the fast charging mode, you will need to purchase a specific model. In this case, you'll need to purchase a USB-C to Lightning cable and a charger with a USB-C connector that can deliver at least 30W of power.
It should be noted that only the iPhone 8 and later models are able to take advantage of the fast battery charging mode
Step 2. Connect the USB-C connector of the connecting cable to the corresponding port on the charger
If you have a MacBook manufactured after 2015, you should already have a charger compatible with fast charging mode.
If you have chosen to use a power source other than the indicated charger, you will most likely not be able to take advantage of your iPhone's fast battery charging mode
Step 3. Plug the charger into a power outlet
Step 4. Plug the other end of the cable into the iPhone's Lightning port
Do not apply excessive force and stop immediately if you feel resistance to avoid damaging the cable connector or the device.
