"Happiness is not a question of intensity but of balance and order and rhythm and harmony." - Thomas Merton. Happiness can only be achieved if there is a balance between physical, mental, spiritual and relational / emotional conditions. However, sometimes living an intense experience is helpful.
Steps
Method 1 of 5: Physical Conditions
Step 1. Do some sport
For example, regularly do push-ups, sit-ups, sit-ups, jog, or walk. Unless you are disabled; in that case you can learn a series of modified exercises.
Step 2. Get enough sleep
An average of eight hours of sleep helps the body stay in good shape. You may need to sleep more or less, since the need for rest varies from person to person.
Step 3. Eat healthy
Search the internet for the food pyramid, then try to balance your calorie intake with exercise. There are many different food pyramids, so choose one or two, as following them all would be difficult.
Step 4. Find time to relax
Lie down and think about what you have done before you begin to relax. Try to have positive thoughts or start a relaxing hobby like sitting or sleeping.
Step 5. Choose a hobby you enjoy
Hobbies can combat everyday stress. Unless they are stressful leisure activities, such as skydiving or self-mutilation. You could try collecting model trains or stamps.
Method 2 of 5: Mental Conditions
Step 1. Plan your day and set goals
But don't stress if you can't make everything exactly as you planned it. Stay flexible and try different approaches to your goals. Remember that sometimes things happen that you may not find the time to do everything. Be productive in the time you have available.
Step 2. Write positive thoughts
No negativity! If you have negative thoughts, don't write them down. Find someone to let off steam with. Pretending to be happy all the time won't do you any good in the long run.
Step 3. Discover and develop your skills
Start doing activities that you find enjoyable and then dedicate yourself to one or two of the ones that ignite your passion. Doing three would be too stressful.
Step 4. Keep a diary or notebook
It's a good place to write down what you think. But remember: no negative thoughts.
Step 5. Read
Try the classics like Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Montaigne, Proust, or Tolstoy. If they're not for you, try newspapers, fantasy stories, biographies, or detective novels. There is a gender for every person. Take a look at the local library to test the terrain.
Step 6. Try to establish possible goals to achieve
Huge goals are harder to accomplish and will likely only give you a disappointment.
Method 3 of 5: Spiritual Conditions
Step 1. Pray earnestly or meditate and learn different yoga postures, such as:
the lotus, the corpse, the tree, the dog that looks down, the snake, etc.
Step 2. Communicate with nature
Go for a hike, camping or fishing. You can find yourself while you are the only one "talking".
Step 3. If you are religious, study the Bible, the Koran, the Bhagavadgita, the Ramayana, the Guru Granth Sahib, the Psalms, etc
Try to learn something about Heaven and Jesus Christ, Mohammed, Buddha, etc.
Method 4 of 5: Relational / Emotional Conditions
Step 1. Do good deeds for others
Step 2. Collaborate with the people you meet
Step 3. Listen to others
There is a difference between just hearing the words and really paying attention to them and listening to them.
Step 4. Combine compatible and useful items, resources or efforts
Method 5 of 5: Material Conditions
Step 1. Try to achieve a good education
To have a good self-employment, try to master the skills necessary for your career. That way you won't depend on anyone else.
Step 2. The job must be the one of your dreams
"Love it or leave it".
Step 3. Money is not important
The most important thing is happiness. Remember that millionaires are no happier than ordinary people.
Advice
- Live the present. Never live projected into the past or into the future; only do what you want now, because the past cannot be changed and the future will inevitably turn into the present.
- Think about yourself; pay no attention to the daily life of others.
- Think positive, with no "no" and no "no": instead of "I will not fail", think "I will be successful". It's better.
- If something haunts you it means that you are not living a balanced life, as you depend on that something to be happy. If you live a balanced life, you will find joy in almost everything you do. Sure, in some more than others, but your happiness will arise from within you and not from external sources.
