Would you like to leave all bad memories behind and start the new school year on the right foot and new energy? How to do? Read on and you will find out!
Steps
Step 1. Think of a new school year ahead of you
So forget everything that happened before, difficulties, bad grades, grudges, enemies or quarrels. Start the new year by leaving all negative thoughts behind!
Step 2. Purchase the material you will need
You will need pencils, pens, a backpack, satchels, and so on. Get all the items that will be useful to you, choose the templates you like best and decorate them as you like, for example draw something or stick stickers on the ring binders. If your school supplies are cheerful and engaging, your study experience will be more enjoyable.
Step 3. Show others that you have changed and that you want to start the new year in a different way
Do not drag yourself while walking and do not stay hunched over the books with a bored expression. Stand straight on your back and be proud of what you do, value your textbooks, consider them valuable material! Be friendly to all the students you meet in the hallways, say hello to your friends and make new acquaintances, even among the kids studying in other classes. If you are a new student in the school, remember that there are certainly other newly arrived people who feel exactly like you. You will probably make many new friends over the course of the year. Socialize with the peers you like the most, in your classroom, in the cafeteria or near the lockers, if you have one. Finding new friends will help you build your self-esteem and have fun.
Step 4. Sign up for extracurricular activities
Don't be afraid, at first all students will be as agitated as you are. If you like to play volleyball join the school team, don't worry if all your friends play football or prefer other activities, you can broaden your knowledge and socialize with other people. You don't have to follow what others are doing, rather try to get to know many people, so you will feel comfortable in any situation.
Step 5. Take notes in class and always listen to your teachers
You've probably been told a thousand times before, but it's time to put this advice into practice. Paying attention to lessons and taking notes are two things that will help you save a tremendous amount of time once you get home. Your study will be faster and you will be able to truly learn what you are being taught! Learning new things is the main purpose of the school, it is not a place to sit passively or chat.
Step 6. Study
Make the decision to work harder now. If you have a hard time studying alone at home, look for fellow students, preferably in a group of at least 3 or 4 other students. You will be surprised at the good results you will get with a little effort. By studying in company, you will be able to compare yourself with other people and you will face questions and class assignments with less stress.
Step 7. Don't panic if teachers decide to take unexpected tests and you have little time to prepare
If you get upset you won't solve anything, you will only make your situation worse. Relax and consult your notes and textbook. Read the first time quickly, then go back to the same paragraph and read it carefully, to grasp the meaning well. Try to visualize the concepts in your mind, if you do you will be able to remember them even during the test.
Step 8. Find out how you can get praise
It seems strange, and perhaps premature, to gather this information from the first day of school. Instead, setting your goal on Day One will help you focus all your efforts on one goal: getting top marks and leaving your course with honors.
Step 9. Treat everyone equally, with respect and dignity
Behave as you would like others to behave towards you. Don't let anyone put their feet on your head. Be nice but set your own rules. Think of the kindest person you know, the one everyone flatters for their good behavior and confidentiality, imagine you are that person and try to get inspired. Behave yourself and discover how good it is to receive the same attention from others. Show the same kindness to both the most popular and the least popular kids in your school. There is a saying that "it is good to be important, but it is more important to behave well". Be friendly and open to everyone (even those who are not very nice), this quality will also be very useful for the future.
Step 10. Be open to new friendships and experiences
People go to school to learn new skills, including socializing and relating to different people to be able to deal with this aspect of life as well. Don't be sad if your old classmates seem to drift apart now that you no longer study together, as you grow up you may discover new interests that your old friends may not share. It is good to keep old friendships, but at the same time it is necessary to open up to others, look forward, grow and indulge in new opportunities.
Advice
- Always pay attention to your personal hygiene! Teens tend to sweat a lot and it is necessary to shower every day to avoid stinking. If you don't want to feel embarrassed by your bad smell, wash your hair every day (wash your hair every other day, using natural products). Put on deodorant, brush your teeth because your breath becomes heavy during sleep and you always wear clean clothes. If your classmates notice that you stink they will make fun of you and comment behind your back, this is always the case, so it is good to stay away from this gossip by always going to school fresh and tidy.
- Doing homework, intervening during lessons, taking notes and being kind to the teacher are not nerd attitudes. These are good habits that distinguish a person who thinks about his future, who behaves well and who wants to be successful in life.
- Always find time to devote to your family, friends and pets if you have at least one. Going to school doesn't mean forgetting about loved ones. Have fun in their company while keeping your goals in mind!
- Be kind and thoughtful to your schoolmates. Participate actively and be present in the lessons!
Warnings
- Being kind and helpful doesn't mean being put under by others.
- If you find that you are being bullied, try to ignore those who persecute you. Bullies generally tend to change their target if they find that it has no effect on the person they are targeting. If, on the other hand, they don't leave you alone in spite of everything, then you have to react: seek someone's help, talk about it with friends, with a school manager, with the teacher or with your parents. Don't let the situation get out of hand, confide in someone who can help you as soon as possible.
