Every girl wants to take care of her personal hygiene as well as possible, but some don't know where to start. Read this article to know how to take care of it.
Steps
Step 1. Take a shower or bath every day
Taking a shower or bath is important for being clean and smelling good, so even if you don't feel like it, remember to wash your entire body every day. In particular, make sure you wash your feet and armpits well.
Step 2. Try to shave the legs, armpits, pubic area, arms or other parts of the body that you prefer to keep smooth to take care of your personal hygiene
Hair does not actually affect a person's hygiene: many men have it and this does not mean at all that they are dirty! It is therefore not mandatory to shave to maintain proper hygiene. It is an individual choice. You should shave when you believe it is necessary and you think a certain area needs it. Use a depilatory cream or foam - never try to shave without one of these products. Otherwise you risk causing irritation, nicks and small red bumps, all of which you definitely prefer to avoid. There are several methods of hair removal: waxing, flossing, epilation, tweezers or depilatory creams.
Step 3. Take care of your oral hygiene
Brush your teeth, floss and mouthwash, visit your dentist regularly, and keep your breath fresh.
Step 4. Apply a deodorant or antiperspirant every day
Having a good smell is not always a sign of cleanliness. However, when the body smells bad, it is possible that there is an underlying hygiene problem. If you wash immediately after sweating (before the bad smell becomes intense and acrid), then you can consider yourself a person capable of taking care of their own hygiene. In any case, using an antiperspirant is very practical to avoid sweating excessively. You can also apply perfumes, colognes, eau de toilette, moisturizers, or scented waters to smell good, but it's optional. Avoid these products if they give you asthma problems.
Step 5. Put on clean clothes
It would make no sense to take care of your personal hygiene and then use dirty clothing. If you are not careful, you will give off an unpleasant smell and look unkempt.
Step 6. Wash your hair whenever you feel it is necessary
Shampooing every day dries up the sebum, a substance necessary to keep your hair and scalp well hydrated. Use a shampoo specific to your hair type and don't forget to apply conditioner. If you want, you can also straighten or curl your hair, but styling has absolutely nothing to do with personal hygiene.
Step 7. Trim your nails to prevent dirt from accumulating underneath
Don't eat them, don't tease them and don't put them in your mouth. Using nail polish is optional, but try not to apply it more than twice a month. Otherwise the nails will yellow and become weak. While this does not indicate poor personal hygiene, it is ugly to look at.
Step 8. Don't neglect facial hygiene
Washing it with a mild cleanser and removing make-up before bed are two more than enough habits to keep it clean. If in addition to treating your face hygiene you also want to have beautiful skin, you can do the following:
- Use a cleanser designed for your skin type. Wet your hands, then pour a small amount of product on one palm and massage it with the other to create a thick lather. Use a cleanser that is gentle enough on the skin. Using an overly aggressive one will only dry it out and cause the sebaceous glands to increase sebum production. Your goal should be to get rid of excess fat while maintaining an adequate hydrolipid film. Do not use soaps: in addition to being too aggressive, they are more difficult to rinse.
- Massage the cleanser all over your face with your fingertips to remove dirt residue and excess oil. Calculate about 30 seconds. Start at the hairline, then pay special attention to the so-called T-zone (forehead, nose and chin), then move on to the jaw and cheeks. Apply it on the neck by performing an upward massage. Do not neglect the area behind the ears, where the sebaceous glands are located. While it is uncomfortable, do it anyway. When you reach the age of 50, you will continue to have beautiful skin and you will be glad that you took the time to care for it. Rinse with warm water and pat your face with a soft towel.
- Moisturizer is an extremely important product. After eliminating the residues of dirt and sebum, it will help you to restore the hydrolipidic film, making the skin fresh and hydrated. Plus, applying it feels good.
Step 9. Adopt healthy habits
Wash your hands before eating. Don't pick your nose. Keep ear holes and any piercings clean. Don't touch the scabs. Wash your hands after going to the bathroom. Always cover your mouth when coughing and sneeze into a tissue. Never spit. Protect the body from unhealthy substances. Put your clothes to wash whenever they get dirty.
Advice
- Always take a shower after working out! Nobody likes the smell of sweat!
- Brush your teeth and comb your hair at least twice a day to avoid looking scruffy.
- Don't forget to rinse off the conditioner well, otherwise your hair will be greasy and dirt will remain.
- Bring a packet of sugar-free mints or gum and chew them especially after meals. According to some studies, chewing sugar-free gum allows saliva to rinse your teeth, freshening your breath and keeping your mouth clean and hydrated.
- When you sweat, change your bra as soon as possible - don't wear it again.
- Change your underwear every day.
- Remember to trim your toenails regularly. This is important for keeping your feet clean and preventing possible fungal infections, as this area is always damp from sweat.
- Make sure you separate clean clothes from dirty ones. When you get out of the shower, put on freshly laundered clothes. This way you will have a clean and well-groomed appearance and you will feel better.
- If you don't have time to do laundry, rub a dryer towel on your clothes to cool them temporarily.
