If your parents have temporarily confiscated your phone or if they regularly restrict your use, if your phone has been stolen or if you can't find it anymore, you can get it back soon, if you handle the situation patiently and with maturity. If your parents hid your phone, apologize right away for making them angry and prove with facts that you have changed.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Get Your Parents To Give Your Phone Back
Step 1. Apologize to your parents for what you have done
This technique may not necessarily work, but it is certainly worth a try, especially if you have combined something that is not easy to remedy. Tell your parents how you intend to behave in the future in a clear and calm tone.
Step 2. Communicate clearly and choose the right time to talk to them, not when they are about to leave the house
For example, talk to your mother while she is washing the dishes; explain what you did and why. Try to figure out why she took your phone from you and try to get her to give it back to you.
Step 3. Don't ask for your phone back too frequently, or they'll think you have a cell phone addiction and get even madder
You will still need to make more than one attempt to get it back.
Step 4. If they prevent you from using it even though you haven't done anything, try to understand why their decision and ask for it back
Step 5. Fix the problem
If your parents want you to clean your room, get home on time, or do some other housework, do it! This will show your parents that you are genuinely sorry and are striving to change the way you do.
Step 6. Do something for them
If it's too late to fix the problem, try doing something else that's useful for them. Clean a room by working hard. Do your homework without complaining. Try to choose something that shows them that you have learned your lesson.
Step 7. Tell your parents why you need to get the phone back
Explain why you need it: for example, a friend of yours has to text you with their math homework or you want to call them to ask for help with their homework or that you have taken a picture of the blackboard and that the notes in the photo you need to do homework. They will most likely give it back to you, but will take it back when you are done with your homework. Be patient.
Remind your parents that the phone is important for your safety. What if they need to reach you in case of an emergency?
Step 8. Ask what you need to do to get your phone back (if they haven't told you already)
So do everything to satisfy their requests. Make a commitment to improve your behavior.
Step 9. Wait
If the recommendations so far don't work, wait. Let your friends know to contact you otherwise. Your parents will be impressed by the patience and maturity you are showing and may return your phone sooner than you expect.
Ask them to know when they will give you back your phone (at the end of the punishment period). At the right time, remind your parents that the punishment period is over
Method 2 of 3: Retrieve a Phone That Was Stolen
Step 1. Resist the temptation to chase the thief
If someone has stolen your phone, don't try to chase them. He could be armed. Better to contact the Carabinieri as soon as possible.
Step 2. Call the Carabinieri
Inform the carabinieri that your phone has been stolen; they may be able to help you recover it. It's best to let them help you retrieve it, especially as you may be dealing with dangerous subjects.
Step 3. Notify your carrier
Managers can temporarily lock your account so that the phone cannot be used. They may also be able to find where your phone is if you have "Find My Phone" or other location services turned on.
Method 3 of 3: Find a Lost Phone
Step 1. Call your phone
Use another phone to dial your number. If the phone is on, you may find that it's not very far from you. Ask a friend to help you by going to various rooms to check if he hears it ringing or vibrating.
Step 2. Retrace your steps
Try to remember where you last used or saw your phone and go back to the places you were recently. If you went to a bar the night before and can't find your cell phone, call and ask if they found it.
Step 3. Ask people you know
Someone you know may have recognized your phone and taken it back to you, or they may remember when you last used it. Sometimes, whoever finds a phone, takes it to the Carabineri or leaves it to the security officers; then contact them to find out if your phone is there. Also go back to asking the stores you've been to recently.
Advice
- If your parents have your phone, don't try to sneak it - it won't work. It is very likely that they will catch you and hold your phone even longer. If you've already got it, put it back before they know it
- To avoid not being able to find a lost phone, turn on the "Find my phone" feature. There are applications that allow you to find your phone if it is lost: make sure that the geolocation services are activated for these applications through the "Settings" menu of the phone.
- Set a security code on your phone. This will prevent any thieves from unlocking your phone and accessing your contacts and other personal information. Choose a complex security code and memorize it well. Don't share it with anyone.
