It can often happen that you don't have the faintest idea how to dress for volleyball training. This guide will teach you to avoid the typical mistakes made by girls who have recently practiced this sport.
Steps
Step 1. Hair
Collect them into a ponytail or French braid. Secure them firmly to prevent them from falling on your eyes or otherwise bothering you. Make sure you push the bangs away from your face, but first find out if it is possible to wear bobby pins or clasps on the court. In most cases, alloys allow you to use a maximum of two. Also, ask if you can put on a terry headband - it's ideal for securing hair that hasn't been pulled up by the ponytail.
Step 2. Mesh
Wear one over a sports bra (do not wear a padded or underwire bra, as it is not comfortable and is not good for your breasts). Don't wear a shirt that is too small or too short. T-shirts that are too tight are not suitable at all, and the same goes for those that are too loose, which will make you feel hot, get in your way and be uncomfortable. You should opt for something in between, as it will allow you to move your arms and the rest of your body smoothly. Tops are fine too.
Step 3. Shorts
Put on the spandex ones. They are ideal for playing volleyball, and therefore are the best both on the court and during training. Don't wear basketball ones, as it will be difficult to move around without difficulty.
Step 4. Knee pads
Mizunos are some of the best, but try different ones to find the right ones. You don't want to use those that are too bulky, because they can hinder you and prevent you from moving well, and then all this padding won't help you. Black ones are ideal if you tend to get dirty easily.
Step 5. Socks
If you want, you can wear knee-high socks, but it's not mandatory. Many players do it when they are smaller, but you will hardly see them on the older ones. It will seem obvious to say it, but the socks of this type must be put under the knee pads. Don't you want to take them? You can always opt for the ones that don't come out of the shoes, so your legs won't sweat. Most of the girls are wearing team socks anyway.
Step 6. Shoes
If you're just starting out, just use the racing ones. However, if you have been playing this sport for some time (especially if you play a lot or do it in college), you may want to invest in a good quality pair. Some volleyball shoes are expensive, so if you don't play that much or are not sure whether to continue with this sport, you should postpone the purchase to the second or third season.
Advice
- Try to have always water available. Also, take a sweat towel with you (a small one is fine anyway).
- It will come in handy to have a duffel bag in which to store everything you need.
- Put a deodorant and an energy drink in the bag.
- Make sure you bring lots of basic clothing items with you, such as socks, t-shirts, etc.
- There are several types of spandex shorts. The black ones are perfect for volleyball, but it depends on your taste.
- Getting hurt in your ankles is anyway. You could purchase ankle protectors for this purpose. For some coaches it is mandatory to have them.
- You can also put a perfume sample in the bag, it won't hurt.
Warnings
- Volleyball is a rather exhausting sport. If you've never got off the couch before, prepare yourself properly and take it step by step, and don't forget it won't be easy.
- Remember that it is possible to hurt your ankles if you play this sport. You might want to buy ankle protectors.
- This sport is very competitive, so be prepared!
