This is the easiest way to back ice skating for beginners in the sport. Here is a simplified version of the instructions for doing it right.
Steps
Step 1. Stand on the ice with your feet forming a "v"
Step 2. Space your feet apart
Step 3. Lean in with your feet
Step 4. Now bring your feet together in front of you, so that the toes touch
Step 5. Separate your feet
Step 6. Bring them together so that your heels touch
Step 7. Method number 2
Make small circular motions halfway with the inside of your skates, moving backwards. Do this by holding on to a wall.
Advice
- Look behind you every now and then to make sure you're not hitting something or someone.
- First of all, you should try to make C-shapes with both feet. Some people get used to using only one. It is not an S shape, but a C shape.
- The feet come together so that you can push harder with your knees.
- The more you push with the front of your feet, the more you will pick up speed.
- Also try walking backwards.
Warnings
- If you see someone trying to ice skate backwards, give them some space. If there isn't one and he's hitting you, call him and touch him on the shoulder if you can do it without him or you risking falling.
- Be careful who you are behind!
