Defenders play behind the midfielders, and their primary responsibility is to support the goalkeeper and prevent opponents from scoring a goal.
Steps
Step 1. Go to sleep early the night before a game to be well rested
Step 2. Eat healthy food and don't eat too much junk food
Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day or more.
Step 3. Watch football matches and watch defenders
Read the books written by the most famous defenders.
Step 4. Play hard and aggressive
Always try to catch the ball and not hit your opponents, otherwise you risk fouls and cards. Never be afraid to use your aggression!
Step 5. Use your head
It is very important for defenders: using your head means avoiding mistakes that can allow the opposing team to score. You will also have to literally use your head to defend on crosses and try to score from an inactive ball.
Step 6. Help your mates whenever you can
Step 7. Never give up
Keep on running. Even if it seems impossible to you, remember that there is always time to catch up on an opponent.
Step 8. Never make passes into the center of the court
Always try to open the game on the sides.
Step 9. Shake hands with your opponents at the end of each game
Even if you lose, do it like a man.
Step 10. Always try to find the right time for sliding interventions
Step 11. Don't leave your position if you are playing as a full-back
The opponents will attack on the flanks. In those situations it will be you who will have the responsibility to defend.
Step 12. Try to guess where your opponent will kick or carry the ball, and use all your intelligence
Step 13. If your peers need help but don't warn you, use common sense and fight back
Try to never lose your marking.
Step 14. Never look at the ball but always be aware of the position of the attackers and how they are moving on the pitch
REMAIN WATCH!
Advice
- When you have the ball, pass it quickly. This will help your team get back on the counterattack.
- Even a light touch, when the ball is moving at high speed, can cause the attacker to lose control or slow him down, saving your team valuable time.

- The stopper marks a man and prevents opponents from entering the box and scoring.
- Full backs. The full backs occupy the two sides of the field. They mark the right wing and the left wing respectively.
