Staying up all night can be fun and can be a way to challenge yourself and your friends! During a sleepless night you can break your everyday routine and indulge in whatever activity you want. Also, remember that many people are more creative at night than during the day.
Steps
Step 1. Before starting, try to get as much sleep as possible
If you don't have to go to school or work at the weekend, Saturday is a better day than Friday if you want to stay up until dawn, as you probably have more sleep the next morning.
Step 2. Make sure you are eating good healthy food throughout the day, as you will not be cooking overnight
Step 3. Buy large quantities of candies, sodas, cookies, chips, microwavable pizzas and other foods that are quick to fuel up and are easy to prepare
Also, make sure you have a good supply of coffee to brew. If you don't drink coffee, try tea or energy drinks.
Step 4. Pick a few things to do
Playing computer or video games is advisable as it usually keeps the adrenaline level high. If you plan to watch movies, make sure they aren't too slow. Action movies, thrillers, horror films, and funny comedies are among the best choices. Stay away from love movies.
Step 5. Set a start time and an end time
A sleepless night cannot end before 7.00-9.00 in the morning, the time when other people wake up and start their day, to be considered as such.
Step 6. After your good night, watch the sunrise
This is one of the best parts of staying up all night.
Step 7. If someone does indeed fall asleep, do some tricks such as dipping their fingers in a container of hot water, putting toothpaste, shaving cream or whipped cream in their hands
So the adrenaline rises and the fun will keep you awake, and above all it will teach those who have fallen asleep to resist longer.
Step 8. If boredom takes over, you could try knocking on someone's door and running away, or playing the classic phone pranks
However, be aware that only you will enjoy this kind of "entertainment".
Step 9. If you are at your computer, turn down the lights so as to avoid straining your eyes and falling asleep
Step 10. Drink energy drinks like Monster or Red bull
If you don't like them, try it with coffee or fizzy drinks.
Step 11. Don't wear clothes that are too comfortable
They could make you relax too much and eventually make you fall asleep.
Step 12. Splash yourself with ice-cold water at any hint of sleepiness
Step 13. If you feel tired then put your headphones on and blast your music, it will keep you awake
Advice
- If your parents are home, don't play loud music or movies as they may wake up and even put an end to your schedule.
- If someone starts to fall asleep, say their name out loud. If he dozes off again, consider taking a break by taking a walk or making coffee. Make sure this person knows that you are all counting on him to be able to arrive at the appointed time.
- Also, don't expect to be able to pull the dawn if this is your first time. Before this big sleepover, try to fall asleep later every night to get your body used to it.
- Do not ingest too much caffeine because although it gives an energy boost, it is likely to cause you to collapse later.
- Regardless of what you do, don't turn off the lights, especially during a movie. Try to keep them on, even if it is dim or low light. Also, avoid lying down thinking you will get up after a few minutes, because it will not happen, especially at 4.30 in the morning.
- Do not stay awake for more than 48 hours, it is harmful to be without sleep for prolonged periods.
- Those who make the sunrise don't have to watch movies or play video games. You can write some story or some song, you can paint, sew clothes, build with legos etc. It seems that when you stay up all night in a group, people are more likely to engage in unusual activities.
- Take small walks outdoors between games, or between movies or whatever activity you decide to do. Fresh air and movement certainly works better than another cup of coffee.
- Staying awake until dawn can be a great opportunity to make a plan for going to bed early, just staying up all day and falling asleep early.
Good movies for the occasion can be those of terror (Disturbia, Saw 3, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Jaws, and other things like that), the funny ones (Norbit, a DVD of Friends, any season is good, The Simpsons, Scary Movie 3). Adventure films, which are very lively and energetic, are also fine
Warnings
- If you actually manage to sleep long after sunrise, you will wake up in the late afternoon or evening and this will make it more difficult to fall asleep at night.
- After the ascent there is the fall. Do not take too much caffeine or too many sugary products, if you decide to stop taking it in the middle of the night, the collapse is assured.
- Make sure you don't have anything important to do the next day, there's a chance you won't get enough sleep (or not at all) during the day.
- Do not drive after sunrise. Driving when you are excessively tired (not counting the agitation due to caffeine) is the same as driving drunk.
- Don't drink too much coffee or too many energy drinks, they would hurt you. The limit is subjective, but you should be able to face the night by staying within the limit of six cups of coffee
- Don't deprive yourself of too much sleep. In the long run, abruptly altering the sleep cycle can lead to ailments such as diabetes and cancer. Be very careful!
