The highlighter warms the complexion and highlights the bone structure. It only takes a few seconds to apply it, as it should only be placed on some small points of the face. However, a little bit of the product can brighten the entire face. Even if you're a beginner, learning how to apply it is easy.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Emphasize Cheeks, Nose and Forehead
Step 1. To begin, apply foundation and concealer
These products create a uniform base for the highlighter and other cosmetics. The concealer helps to hide small imperfections and to brighten the complexion even more. In any case, before applying the highlighter and concealer, apply the foundation you usually use well.
- To blend the foundation well, use a sponge or brush;
- If you have dark circles or small blemishes, apply some concealer to cover them better. This will also make it easier to draw attention to the illuminated parts of the face.
- You can also use the concealer to define where you intend to apply the highlighter. Tap some on the bridge of the nose, cheekbones, center of the forehead, under the eyes and on the crease of the chin. Blend it well.
Step 2. Apply the highlighter on the cheekbones
Spread it from the temple to the top of the cheekbone by drawing a C. Help yourself with a blush or kabuki brush. You can use a veil for a subtle effect or several layers for an intense result.
Step 3. Dab some highlighter on the tip of the nose
Pick it up with your fingertip and tap it on the tip of your nose. Blend it with your finger by moving it up and down. Remember that you don't need much, just a small amount.
Step 4. To highlight the forehead, apply highlighter from the center to the bridge of the nose
Start at the center of the hairline and work your way down in a straight line.
If you want a more intense effect, then apply the highlighter on the bridge of the nose as well, but this step is optional
Method 2 of 2: Emphasize Eyes, Lips and Chin
Step 1. Apply the highlighter to the inner corner of the eye
Pick up some highlighter eyeshadow with the tip of a special brush. At this point, tap it on the inner corner of the eye.
If you want a more intense effect, you can layer the product, otherwise a veil is enough to obtain a delicate result
Step 2. Apply the highlighter to the brow bone
This area attracts a lot of light, so it pays to illuminate it.
- Try to apply it mainly on the outer edge of the browbone, not all over the bone;
- To further illuminate the eyes, you can apply it up to the crease of the eye.
Step 3. Apply some highlighter on Cupid's bow, which is the area in the center of the upper lip
Illuminating it will draw attention to the lips. Pick up a small amount of highlighter with your fingertip and press it on the affected area.
Do not apply it on the lips, only on the cupid's bow
Step 4. Apply the highlighter to the center of the chin
This also helps you draw attention to the lips.
- Try not to overdo the doses: a veil is enough;
- If you have lit your forehead, try to keep the same line when applying the highlighter to your chin.
