The eye contour is a cosmetic that cannot be missing in the beauty case. You can use it to combat swelling, hydrate or firm the area. However, the creams on the market can be expensive and contain many potentially harmful ingredients. If you are looking for a natural and inexpensive solution, try making an eye contour at home.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Make an Anti-Dark Circles Eye Contour
Step 1. Extract some juice from a few slices of cucumber and some mint
You will need a couple of teaspoons to get a flaming and anti-dark circles eye contour. Both mint and cucumber have cooling properties. A juice extractor is required for this recipe.
- If you don't have it, you can put the ingredients in a blender and strain the liquid through a fine mesh strainer.
- After extracting the juice, measure two teaspoons and pour them into a small bowl.
Step 2. Add two teaspoons of milk
At this point, measure the milk and pour it into the bowl. It will help deflate the area and lighten dark circles.
Step 3. Add two teaspoons of sweet almond oil
It helps moisturize the eye area and also has a pleasant smell. Measure two teaspoons and pour them into the bowl.
Step 4. Add two teaspoons of 100% pure aloe vera gel
Helps moisturize and firm the eye area. Mix this last ingredient with the others until it forms a thick cream.
Step 5. Use the eye contour every night before going to bed
It is a great night treatment. Helps moisturize and brighten the area while you sleep.
After washing your face, apply a small amount to the eye area
Method 2 of 3: Make a Coffee Eye Contour
Step 1. Make an olive oil and coffee infusion
Coffee has firming properties, improves circulation, protects the skin from UV rays and can even slow down the aging process, so it is a great ingredient for the eye area. For this recipe you can mix it with olive oil, creating an infusion.
- To prepare the infusion, mix three tablespoons of ground coffee without added flavorings and 120 ml of olive oil in a saucepan.
- Heat the coffee and oil over low heat for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. At this point, remove the saucepan from the heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature.
- Filter the oil by placing cheesecloth or a coffee filter on a colander. Make sure you place a container under the colander to catch the oil.
Step 2. Melt 60g of beeswax
Now, prepare everything you need for the double boiler. Fill a large pot halfway with water and place a heat-resistant glass bowl inside. Adjust the heat to medium-low. Place 60g of beeswax in the glass bowl and let it melt.
- Once the beeswax has melted, remove it carefully from the heat. Put on oven gloves and place the bowl on a trivet or pot holder as it will be hot.
- If you prefer to avoid beeswax, you can replace it with 60ml jojoba oil. You will still have to melt it.
Step 3. Add 60ml of coconut oil
Do this while the beeswax is still hot. If coconut oil is solid, it should melt as you add it. Under a certain temperature it solidifies, but it melts easily.
Step 4. At this point, add three vitamin E oil capsules
Pierce them with a pin and let the contents flow directly into the bowl. Discard the capsule shell.
If you want, you can also add a few drops of an essential oil of your choice. Lavender or chamomile has soothing properties
Step 5. Add 60ml of the coffee and olive oil infusion
Pour it into the bowl and mix the ingredients well. At this point the mixture will be liquid, but will solidify once it has cooled.
Transfer the eye contour into a jar for lip balm or glass. You can store it in a cool, dry place, such as a cupboard or drawer. If you prefer it cold, keep it in the refrigerator
Step 6. Use the cream in the morning for a more awake look
This eye contour contains caffeine, which can firm the skin. It is also moisturizing, so it creates a good makeup base.
Try applying a small amount in the morning after washing your face
Method 3 of 3: Make an Eye Contour Remover
Step 1. Measure 60ml of coconut oil
It has moisturizing and antibacterial properties, so it has become a much loved ingredient in the world of facial cosmetics. You can use it to prepare a two-in-one eye contour: moisturizer and make-up remover. Measure 60ml and pour it into a glass bowl.
If the coconut oil is solid, let it melt in the microwave for about 10 seconds (or less). Don't go any further, or it will get hot
Step 2. Add three vitamin E oil capsules
Prick them with a pin and empty them into the bowl of coconut oil. Mix the ingredients until they are well combined.
Step 3. Add three drops of an essential oil of your choice
In this way the eye area will have a good smell and will be even more soothing. Try adding a few drops of lavender essential oil and mix the ingredients well.
Step 4. Use this cream to remove make-up and moisturize the eye area
Once the essential oil has been added, the two-in-one eye contour is ready! Transfer it to a glass jar, then store it in a cool, dry place. The mixture will solidify at room temperature, but will melt again when it starts to get hot.
- Try using this eye contour to remove make-up at the end of the day. Close your eyes, dab some on your eyelids and wipe it off with a moistened sponge.
- You can also use some to moisturize the eye area after washing your face.
