Steps
Step 1. Buy a pack of Snus
Snus has various flavors, sizes and levels of intensity. It's probably best to start with a light strain if you've never smoked. If you are a nicotine addicted smoker, the strong one is fine too.
- The labels show the intensity values which are: Normal, Stark, & Extra Stark. On average, the Stark strain contains 11mg of nicotine per gram and the Extra Stark strain up to 22mg.
- The Snus has three different sizes: Mini, Normal / Large (the most common) and Maxi.
- Camel and Marlboro both have Snus brands with different flavors, such as mint, "robust" style and natural flavors. They are known for lasting taste, so pick one you might like.
- Many users claim that the real Swedish "Snus" has a much better quality and they prefer the taste. If you want to buy it in Sweden, be sure to take it in small bags as the traditional one occasionally has the label with "snus" written on it.
Step 2. Take a small bag from the box
When you buy the canned Snus, there will be lots of little bags. Get one to use it.
Unlike the classic snuff, you don't need to shake the box to create lumps of tobacco. You can arrange it from the bags with your fingers, squeezing them a little. Do this gently and be careful not to tear the bags
Step 3. Insert the pouch between your teeth and gums
Most Snus users choose to place the pouch under the upper lip on one side. Put it where it suits you most.
- Some dry the inside of the lips before inserting it, to avoid producing too much saliva. If you wish, use a tissue to wipe the upper inside of your lips.
- Those with small mouths find it more convenient to fold the bag in half (length or width) before inserting it. Try and decide what's best for you.
Step 4. Don't spit
It is not necessary to spit out the Snus' tobacco juice, although some do so to avoid carrying an empty bottle of water or a cup with them. Swallow normally and keep the Snus in your mouth for as long as possible and enjoy the taste and effect. You can keep it for 20 minutes up to an hour.
- Snus is a variety of "wet snuff," meaning that the substance in the bag contains only 30% tobacco and the remaining 70% is water and flavorings. As there are salt and flavorings in the mixture, you will not produce excess saliva.
- Immediately after application, you should feel the classic effect of tobacco. If you are inexperienced, you may experience symptoms such as agitation, nausea, or even vomiting. These are reactions caused by nicotine. If you start to feel nauseous, spit out the bag.
- Always throw used bags in the trash. Don't spit them around.
Step 5. Store the Snus in a cool, dry place
Keeping cans of snus in the fridge is common as the flavor and quality stay fresh. By doing so, it will last longer. In America you will find it in the refrigerators of the tobacco shops.kept refrigerated in American tobacco stores.
