Step 1. Find the model you have

Methods for accessing clinical settings vary from machine to machine. Try one of the following:

Step 2. With the machine connected to the power supply, remove the cable from the instrument

Then hold down the two buttons below the monitor as you plug the cable back into the machine. Keep pressing the buttons until you hear a “beep”. This indicates that the CPAP machine has entered the Therapy Settings Menu.

  • For RESMED S7, S8, and R241 models: hold down the right button for 5 seconds.
  • For the RESMED S6 model: press the Start button and the 20Min button at the same time while the unit is on. The two buttons must remain lit. Now press '5' to lower the pressure and '10' to increase it. Turn off the machine to save the settings.

Step 3. Reset the display

It will first show you the amount of hours the machine has been used. To cancel this value and start over from scratch, hold down the humidifier or ramp button. An "X" will appear. Keep holding the key until the value becomes “0” and the “X” disappears.

Step 4. Set the 'quota'

This value will be what appears next. To change it, press the humidifier or ramp button until the desired setting is reached. The altitude values are: 1 = less than 760 meters; 2 = from 760 to 1500 meters; 3 = from 1501 to 2300 meters.

Step 5. The "therapy" mode will appear:

This will allow you to calibrate the pressure with a pressure gauge. It is suggested that you do not try to change this setting.

Step 8. The CFLEX setting will appear if you select the CFLEX mode in step number 5

If you choose setting 1 you will have a minimum pressure drop, setting 3 the maximum drop. To change this value, press the ramp or humidifier button until you reach the desired one.

Step 9. The ramp time will now appear

It could be set from 0 to 45 minutes in 5 minute increments. To change these values, press the ramp or humidifier button until you reach the desired values.

Step 11. The patient disconnect setting will now appear

This is an alarm that is activated if there is a leak in the mask and turns off the air flow. 1 = Alarm active; 2 = Alarm off. To change this setting press the ramp or humidifier button.

Step 12. There are no other settings available. Press the start / stop button to exit the menu, or press the right button and review the settings one more time.
