Marijuana tea is a drink with a high calming effect, which is used for therapeutic purposes because it relieves stress and soothes pain. To extract THC, the potent active ingredient in marijuana, it is necessary to heat butter or another fat with tea. You can flavor the drink by adding regular tea leaves or by mixing it with delicious chai latte. If you prefer a lighter tea, you can steep the marijuana pods in boiling water to create a relaxing herbal tea.
Note: With a very strong strain of marijuana you will get an equally potent herbal tea. Be careful not to overdo it, avoid driving or using machines after drinking tea.

Marijuana herbal tea
- 1/2 gram of marijuana pods
- 240 ml of water
- Tea bags (of any type)
- Sugar or honey (optional)
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Classic Recipe
Step 1. Grind the marijuana pods
Separate the stems and seeds if necessary, use a grinder and chop the pods with a sharp knife until the mixture is very fine, but not completely pulverized.
Step 2. Mix the mince with the butter
Put them both in a bowl and use a spoon to mix them. Make sure that each piece of marijuana is coated in butter, but avoid getting it soaked in grease, otherwise this could inhibit the release of THC.
Note: If you want strong tea, THC must be extracted from the plant. Since this active ingredient is not soluble in water alone, a fatty ingredient is essential to carry out its hot extraction. The combination of the heat of the boiling water and the fat in the butter brings the THC out of the pods and allows you to assimilate it
Step 3. Empty a tea bag and fill it with the mixture of butter and marijuana
Use scissors to cut the top of the sachet and remove the contents. With a spoon pour the mixture into the bag and fold the area you cut several times to avoid spilling.
- If you have a tea ball filter you can use it.
- Alternatively, use an American coffee filter: place the buttered marijuana in the center of the filter and then close the edges like a small bundle.
Step 4. Heat the water on the stove until it simmers
Use medium heat, the water should not come to a boil.
Step 5. Soak the tea bag in the water for 30 minutes
Reduce the heat if the mixture starts to boil. If the water level starts to drop, add more to compensate for evaporation.
Step 6. Remove the saucepan from the heat and take out the bag
The tea will be very hot, so remember to let it cool for 5 minutes. If you prefer a flavored drink, add another bag of your favorite tea during the last three minutes of brewing.
Step 7. Add sugar or honey to taste and enjoy the tea
As with most marijuana products that you take orally, it will take 45-60 minutes for the full effect to be felt.
Note: Even just half a gram of marijuana in this tea will have a very strong effect
Method 2 of 3: Marijuana Tea with Chai Milk
Step 1. Grind the marijuana pods
Separate the stems and seeds if necessary, use a grinder and chop the pods with a sharp knife until you get a very fine, but not completely pulverized, mixture.
Step 2. Mix the marijuana with milk, butter and vanilla
Put the ingredients in a blender and blend them until smooth.
Step 3. Let the mixture rest for an hour, this allows the various aromas to blend together
Step 4. Add the water and simmer the mixture for 30 minutes
Check the saucepan very carefully to make sure it does not start boiling and evaporating. Add more water as needed to keep the level constant.
Step 5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the chai tea bag
Leave it to infuse for 5 minutes. During this time the drink cools down a little.
Step 6. Strain the tea with a fine mesh strainer
Place a colander or cheesecloth over a bowl and pour the tea to get rid of pod residue. You can skip this step if the residues don't bother you.
Step 7. Pour the tea into a cup and enjoy it
Add sugar or other milk to taste. If you want a real treat, you can garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and a squeeze of cinnamon.
Note: Even just half a gram of marijuana in this tea will have a very strong effect

Add another regular tea bag if you want to enhance the flavor. Earl gray, Irish breakfast or herbal teas are great.
Step 4. Bring a cup of water to a boil
You can do this in the microwave or on the stove.
Step 5. Pour the water into the cup and let the sachets steep for 5 minutes
The longer you wait, the more intense the flavor will be.
Step 6. Remove the sachets and drink the herbal tea
Add sugar, honey, or milk to taste.
