Garlic is often too rough to peel by hand, and too small for a peeler. Fortunately, there are so many ways to peel garlic in no time. Cooks who are short on time and work at a fast pace use two techniques: shaking the garlic or the silicone garlic-peeler tube.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Shake the Garlic
Step 1. Take a whole head of garlic
Cut out a few outer cloves if you don't need all the garlic.
Step 2. Break the whole head if you need a large amount
Place it on the work surface with the tip pointing up. Give your wrist a flick on the tip of the garlic and the cloves should separate easily.
If you have delicate hands or if the garlic is too dry, use a sturdy bowl to open the garlic
Step 3. Transfer the garlic cloves to a small metal or ceramic bowl
Cover the bowl with a lid or other bowl. Alternatively, you can use an old plastic bottle, which needs to be closed tightly.
Step 4. Shake the bowls or water bottle vigorously for 15 seconds
Make sure you hear the garlic banging on the sides of the container.
Step 5. Separate the bowls or open the bottle
Remove the garlic and peels. The wedges should all be completely peeled.
If any wedges are left that are not completely peeled, shake them again, with all the strength you have
Method 2 of 3: Use the Silicone Tube
Step 1. Purchase the silicone garlic peeler tube at a home improvement store
They typically cost less than € 5. Many garlic peppers are already cylinder-shaped, others are sold in rubber sheets, which you can roll up as needed.
Step 2. Separate the garlic cloves starting from the outside
You can also separate them all together by hitting the head with your wrist.
Step 3. Put the silicone tube on the cutting board
Insert the wedges into the tube. If you are using the sheet garlic peeler, roll it around the cloves so it doesn't pop.
Step 4. Move your wrist back and forth on the tube
continue until you have covered the entire length, where the wedges are. Put a lot of pressure.
Your hands will not be damaged by the rough surface of the garlic, as the silicone will act as a barrier
Step 5. Turn the tube and pop the wedges out
If you have the silicone sheet, unroll it. Remove the peels. T.
Method 3 of 3: Squeeze with a Flat Knife
Step 1. Place an unpeeled clove of garlic on a flat surface and rest the flat blade of a kitchen knife on it
Be careful to leave the cutting edge of the knife opposite you.
Step 2. Carefully and quickly, strike the knife with your open hand
The purpose is not to chop the clove, but to detach the peel from the pulp. A quick puff gets the job done.
Step 3. Remove the knife and peel off the remaining peel with your hands
It should come off very easily.
