Having an organized kitchen is important to manage it efficiently. Whether you need to prepare a meal or just grab breakfast before work, things work best if you have everything in the right places in your kitchen cabinets.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Do an Inventory Check
Step 1. Separate your plates into stacks
Put your plates together for everyday use, separate from those for special occasions. The pots and pans go to another group. Glasses should also be a separate group.
Step 2. Pack up any dishes you no longer use and take them to a Salvation Army shop
Any broken or cracked plates should be thrown away. Decide how many you really need and get the rest out of the way.
Method 2 of 2: Organizing the Furniture
Step 1. Empty the furniture
Clean them with a clean cloth.
Step 2. Place dishes you don't use often in a low or high cabinet that doesn't bother you
As in the picture, it is sometimes a good idea to pack up dishes you don't often use in some cover. This will help prevent dirt and dust from accumulating if they are left exposed, such as on top of a cupboard
Step 3. Place your special occasion porcelain in a porcelain display case
If you don't have one, find a safe place to store them so they don't chip or break. Do this only for dishes you really want to keep safe, such as those with seasonal decorations or sentimental value. Storing excess plates that you never use is a waste of space, and similar items are more useful for charity.
Step 4. Place pots and pans together in a low cabinet
This prevents heavy objects from rolling at you from a high shelf.
Step 5. Put bowls and other cooking utensils in a convenient place
If they are heavy, choose a low shelf to be safe.
Step 6. Put glasses and cups together in the same space
Turn them upside down to prevent the edges from chipping or dust accumulating inside them (although not everyone agrees with this method, it's more a matter of personal preference). Since cups and glasses are the most used items in your furniture, keep them on a low shelf if possible.
Glass goblets should not rest on the rim; hang them by the stem using a cup holder rack or hold them facing up
Step 7. Store the dishes you use regularly in a cabinet near the dishwasher or table you eat at
This will make them convenient to take from the cabinet and store them. Place them on a shelf that's not too high, for convenience.
Advice
- Hang the mugs from the hooks on the underside of the furniture if you have limited space in the cupboards.
- Buy racks to stack your dishes and use more space in your cupboard. It will keep the dishes organized in a better way.
- Order the plates by stacking them from largest to smallest.
