Instagram Stories only last for 24 hours, so you can add a date to know when they were posted. This article explains how to write the full date on an Instagram story.
Steps
Step 1. Open Instagram
The application icon depicts a camera in a colored square. You can find it on the Home screen, in the application menu or by doing a search.
Log into your Instagram account if prompted
Step 2. Swipe your finger from left to right to open the camera
You can also tap on the camera icon in the top left corner of the screen.
Step 3. Click on the circular button in order to take a new photo for your story
You can also hold it down to shoot a video, select an image or video from the gallery, and make a video with special effects such as Boomerang or Rewind, options found at the bottom of the screen.
- You can press on the arrow symbol to switch between the front and rear cameras or vice versa.
- You can also add filters to photos and videos by clicking on the smiley face symbol.
Step 4. Click on the Aa button
It is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
The keyboard will appear from the bottom of the screen, allowing you to write the date on the story
Step 5. Write the date
You can write the month in letters so that the date appears as follows: "November 19, 2020". Alternatively, you can shorten it by writing: "11/19/20".
- Once the date is written, you can change the font size by dragging the slider up or down on the left side of the screen. You can change the font color by pressing on one of the available colors above the keyboard. You can also change the font style by selecting "Classic", "Modern", "Neon", "Typewriter" or "Strong".
- Once you have finished editing the font, click on end in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 6. Click on Send to
This button is located in the lower right corner of the screen.
Step 7. Click on Share next to the "Your Story" option
The story will then be shared on Instagram for 24 hours.
Advice
- You can add the exact time by pressing on the appropriate sticker, which represents the face of a digital clock. Once you have pressed on this sticker to add it to the story, try tapping it several times to see all the different types of watches available.
- You can also press on the sticker depicting the day of the week if you don't want the date to appear in numbers.
- If you make a story using the current time sticker, but share it later, the sticker will change, showing the date instead.
