In the past it was necessary to use third-party applications to make photo collages, today Instagram offers an add-on called "Layout", which allows you to easily combine multiple photos in a single post. Creating a collage using Layout is simple - just install the add-on and make your idea come true.

Steps

Part 1 of 2: Install Layout

Step 1. Open Instagram

If your account is not signed in automatically, enter your username and password when prompted, then press "Sign In". Make sure you have installed the latest version of Instagram.

Step 2. Press the Camera icon or the "+" icon

You will find it at the bottom of the screen and a page will open from which you can upload images or videos.

Step 3. Press Library (on iOS) or Gallery (on Android).

You will find the button you are looking for in the lower left corner of the screen.

Step 4. Press the Layouts icon

It is a small icon in the lower right corner of the image preview window. It looks like a square divided into three sections. Pressing it will open a dialog box that will ask you to download the "Layout" app from the App Store or Play Store.

Step 5. Press Get Layout

The Google App Store or Play Store will open.

Step 6. Press Install to start the download

The application was designed by the creators of Instagram, so it is absolutely safe.

Once you download the application, your Android device will automatically take you back to Instagram.
If you are using an iPhone, press Open.

Step 7. Complete the tutorial

When you first open Layout you can follow a mini-guide that shows you how to use the application.

Step 8. Press Get Started

The Gallery section of the application will open.

Step 9. Allow the app to access your photos

Click on Allow if you are using an Android device, or OK on iOS.

Part 2 of 2: Creating the Collage

Step 1. Press the photos you want to select

You can choose up to 9 images to include in your collage.

Step 2. Press the layout you prefer

You will see the various collage compositing options in the scroll bar at the top of the screen.

Step 3. Press a part of the collage to edit it

You can resize a photo by dragging its edges.
You can move an image within the collage by dragging it.
Use the buttons at the bottom of the editing screen to flip, reverse or replace a part of the collage.
Select "Borders" to add a white frame to separate the images.

Step 4. Press Save

If you are using an Android device, press Next, then skip to Step 6.

Step 5. Open Instagram

You can now exit Layout and open Instagram. Press the Camera icon or the "+" icon and select the edited image from the "Gallery" section.

Step 6. Select a filter

Step 7. Press Next

Step 8. Press Share

Your collage will be visible to all your Instagram followers!
