This article explains how to change the screen brightness of a computer running the Windows 10 operating system. You can make this change from the Windows "Settings" menu. Alternatively, you can use the "Notification Center" which you can access directly from the Windows taskbar.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Use the Notification Center
Step 1. Open the Windows "Notification Center"
Click on the balloon icon located in the lower right corner of the desktop, next to the system clock, to access the "Notification Center".
Step 2. Drag the brightness slider left or right to change the screen brightness
It is located at the bottom of the "Notification Center" panel. Moving it to the right will increase the brightness of the screen, while moving it to the left will decrease it.
Method 2 of 2: Using the Settings App
Step 1. Access the "Start" menu by clicking on the icon
It features the Windows logo and, by default, is located in the lower left corner of the desktop on the taskbar.
Step 2. Click on the "Settings" icon
It is located at the bottom of the "Start" menu and features a gear.
Step 3. Click the System icon
It is the first item in the Windows "Settings" menu. It features a stylized laptop.
Step 4. Click on the Display tab
It is the first option listed in the left pane of the window. The screen configuration settings will be displayed.
Step 5. Drag the brightness slider left or right to change the screen brightness
It is located in the "Brightness and Color" section of the menu and is labeled "Change default screen brightness". Moving it to the right will increase the brightness of the screen, while moving it to the left will decrease it.

Advice
- Some computers have a special button with which you can adjust the brightness of the screen.
- On some computers, automatic screen brightness adjustment can be enabled. Go to the "System" section of the "Settings" menu and select the "Automatically adjust brightness when lighting changes" checkbox.
- If moving the brightness slider does not change the brightness level of the screen accordingly, the cause of the problem may lie in the use of the wrong version of the display drivers. In this case, visit the computer manufacturer's website to download the latest version of the display drivers.
