A LifeProof case is a tablet or smartphone cover designed to withstand water, dust, bumps and snow. This type of case requires a secure, airtight fit so it won't let go over time. Removing a LifeProof case should be done with caution so that it can be stored and reused in the future.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Remove the back
Step 1. Locate the battery opening on the bottom of your phone or tablet
Open the hatch.
Step 2. Find the small compartment to the left of the magazine slot
It is on the case for easy removal.
Step 3. Turn the case so that the back faces up
Then, turn the bottom of the phone so that it faces away from your body.
Step 4. Take a dime
Insert it into the small compartment to the left of the magazine entrance. Insert the coin all the way by turning it gently.
Keep doing this very softly until you hear a click, indicating the separation of the front from the back
Step 5. Place your fingers on the bottom of the case, where the door was opened
You should hear another "pop" as the other side of the lace opens.
Step 6. Insert your fingers deeper, between the back of the phone / tablet and the back of the case
Pull the back of the case away from the front, moving back and forth relative to your body.
- You should feel various laces along the release side of the case as you pull the back away from the front with swinging motion.
- Do not use scratching movements. Without your hand between the phone / tablet and the back of the case, it will break.
Step 7. Set the back of the case aside
Part 2 of 2: Remove the front
Step 1. Turn the LifeProof Case over to the opposite side
Take the next step on a soft surface, such as a bed, in case your phone or tablet falls out of the case suddenly.
Step 2. Apply pressure to the front of the case with your thumb pad
Try doing this in the center of the case.
Step 3. Grab the sides around the case with your other fingers
Your phone should pop out of the back.
