Many people believe that a party is not a party if there are not many guests. This article goes against this theory. You can also have fun by organizing a small party by gathering a few people, and the tips listed below will help you do that.
Steps
Step 1. Identify a suitable place in advance to organize the party
With your friends imagine where you would like to be, so you can organize the embellishments and everything you need.
Step 2. Ask for permission
If you live with other people, such as your parents or a partner, you should ask for their consent before throwing a party at your home. They too have the right to privacy and, if they disagree, find another place. Respect their decision.
Step 3. Think about the details in advance:
- Who: put your name on the invitations, whether you are the only one organizing the party or together with a group of friends.
- What: Briefly describe the party. Give some guidance on the topic without revealing too much at the same time. Set the "tone" of the party. Inform the guests about what you will do, give them some suggestions on what they should bring and whether the occasion is formal or not. If necessary, indicate how to dress. For example, if there will be games during which clothes can get dirty, it is better to specify this.
- Where: the place where the party will be held is essential information also for organizing transport. Remember to write in full the address, the house number, which public transport may be closest and which exit of the motorway / ring road / freeway it is best to take.
- When: on the invitations write the date and time when the party will be held.
- Why: If you wish, add personal information about the party. Be detailed and give a good reason or more reasons why you want to organize the event.
Step 4. Prepare the invitations
You can write them by hand or on the computer. If the party has a theme, you could add a suitable image, use a specific font, choose a specific background and so on. For example, if the theme is the supernatural, you can put vampires or werewolves on the front of the invitation. Use a gothic font, if your writing program has one, or something that looks "old". In the background you can put ghosts or something like that. Try to be mysterious and dark, give guests the feeling that the image on the wall is watching them.
Step 5. Invite friends
Distribute the invitations to your closest companions or to those you would like to know better. The maximum number of people is 6. This is the maximum number for which we can speak of a "small" party.
Step 6. Get refreshments
Make sure there is enough food and drink for everyone. Cakes, biscuits and tea are fine. Remember to respect any food needs of your friends. For example, if some of them are vegetarians, do not put meat in all the appetizers.
Step 7. Plan something to entertain guests
For small parties, focus on something inexpensive. Make up games, projects, activities or events. Use a DJ or a professional only if he is a friend or if he is part of the group of guests, so he too will have the opportunity to enjoy the party.
Advice
- Don't spend a lot of money on any details. Think of the party as an occasion to be together or as a time for tea. Nobody spends too much on tea, right?
- Send out invitations a week in advance. Some people take some time to decide and need time to respond.
- Have fun!
- Consider throwing a sleepover, especially if you're all girls. In truth, we don't sleep, but we spend the night chatting, gossiping and so on.
- Throw a surprise party.
Warnings
- Do not overdo it. Use and wear what you have available and make the party place pleasant. For example, a cost of 20 euros is already a lot.
- Don't be sad if someone refuses, invite someone else!
