Search Engine Optimization is a subject that encompasses a set of techniques used in web publishing to increase visibility and traffic on web pages, which results in higher search engine rankings and more readers for your page. Writing an article for Search Engine Optimization purposes requires first of all good writing skills, so that you are able to make the article itself interesting and enjoyable to read; second, the strategic positioning of keywords in the text; and third; the inclusion of hyperlinks to and from external sources that will increase the number of visitors to your page. Read the following steps to find out how to write an article using the basic rules of Search Engine Optimization.
Steps
Step 1. Outline the outlines of your article
- Each article should be well written, interesting and informative. If possible, you should present your own point of view on each specific topic, providing a good opening so that anyone who happens to be on your page is enticed to read more. The article must contain important information for readers. This means that the article must be useful, fun or otherwise have value.
- A well written article with good content attracts more traffic, which means more visitors to your site. This way your site will appeal to marketers (the people who link to their sites on yours) and will improve your chances of meeting advertisers who want to use your site for their advertisements.
Step 2. Make a list of the phrases and keywords in your article
It is important to include some metadata in the page, which is part of the HTML code.
- Phrases and keywords are words, or combinations of words, that users use to search for information on the topic covered on your site. For example, the key phrases for a moving article might be "packing and moving" or "loading a moving truck", while the key words might be "moving", "relocation", or "change of residence".
- Keywords and key phrases are keywords registered by so-called "spiders", which are the scripts of search engines that are sent to every page on the Internet to analyze its content and quality. They record key words and phrases to determine the subject of the page; but they also reveal how many times a keyword or phrase is used, whether a page is grammatically correct or not, and what kind of inbound or outbound hyperlinks are present on the page. Hypertext links are links to pages relating to the topic covered on your site.
Step 3. Write your article
- Make sure it is grammatically correct and does not contain any grammatical or spelling errors.
- Give your article a title.
- Divide it into small paragraphs, each with its own title.
- Use the most important key words and phrases as soon as possible in the article, preferably in the first sentence, and at the end of the first paragraph.
- Don't abuse key words and phrases. Interspatial naturally in the text while maintaining a natural reading rhythm. The recommended keyword density in the article is 1-3%.
- Include your most important keywords and key phrases in your title and headlines.
- If possible without altering the meaning of the text, enter keywords and key phrases in italics, or in bold.
