Achilles tendonitis is inflammation of the tendon that connects the calf muscles to the heel bone, and is quite painful. This disorder is often caused by intense sports activity, flat arches, or injuries, and it is important to treat it correctly. This article tells you how.
Steps
Step 1. Go to your doctor to get a prompt diagnosis and refer you to appropriate therapy
Every person is different, and some treatments may be right for you but not for others.

Step 2. Rest the affected leg
You shouldn't exercise for several days for the inflammation to go away. Maybe you should change the type of training and choose those activities that reduce the pressure on the Achilles tendon.
Swimming or gentle walking can be alternatives while the injury is healing. When you then resume your usual physical activity, you should reduce its intensity and duration
Step 3. Apply an ice pack or place ice wrapped in a towel for 15 minutes after exercising, or when you feel pain or swelling in your tendon
Step 4. Wrap the foot and leg with elastic bandages or compression bandages
Compression helps reduce swelling and movement of the involved tendon.
Step 5. Lift your foot above chest level to reduce swelling
Your doctor may also suggest that you stay in bed with your injured foot elevated.
Step 6. Take anti-inflammatories, such as ibuprofen or naproxeneche, to reduce inflammation and relieve pain
Step 7. Stretch the affected muscle area to help the tendon heal and prevent future problems
