Traditional bathroom cleaners, the ones you buy at the supermarket so to speak, are full of harsh chemicals. These components are undoubtedly effective in quickly eliminating stains and mold, but, coming into direct contact with them, their effectiveness can pose a threat. The fumes generated following use are equally dangerous. All-natural bathroom cleaners are commercially available, but finding them can be a real challenge. Besides, they are quite expensive. It is possible to create an organic product using non-toxic ingredients that you have at home. Follow these steps - you will find several recipes to do this.
Steps
Step 1. Prepare sink, tub and tile cleaner
- Pour 200 g of baking soda into a spray bottle.
- Add 120ml of liquid soap, 120ml of water, and 30ml of white vinegar.
- Close the bottle tightly and shake it vigorously to mix the ingredients.
- Spray it on the area to be cleaned and work it with a rag or sponge.
Step 2. Eliminate mold
- Pour 115 g of borax and 120 ml of white vinegar into a shallow bowl.
- Stir the solution until you get a thick consistency.
- Apply it to the mold with a clean brush and scrub. Leave it on the affected area for an hour before rinsing it off.
Step 3. Prepare a detergent for the drain hose
- Pour 70 g of baking soda down the drain. Then add 250 ml of white vinegar.
- Let a chemical reaction occur between the two components. The vinegar will make the baking soda sizzle.
- Let it sizzle for at least 15 minutes, and then pour a pan full of boiling water down the drain.
- Repeat the process more than once if the drain hose is still clogged and emits bad smells.
Step 4. Sanitize the floor
- Fill a bucket with at least 8 liters of boiling water and 115 g of borax.
- Wipe the floor with a rag after soaking it with this solution. Don't rinse it off with water, just let the mix stick to the surface.
Step 5. Prepare some powder detergent
- Mix 130g of baking soda, 130g of borax, and 130g of salt in a small jar or container.
- Sprinkle the powder on a specific area to clean and scrub with a sponge. This substance is particularly abrasive and can easily remove dirt and other residues.
Step 6. Prepare a toilet cleaner
- Pour 30 g of baking soda down the toilet, then add 60 ml of white vinegar.
- Leave the solution on for half an hour before scrubbing with a toilet brush and flushing the toilet.
Step 7. Prepare a glass cleaner
- Mix 60ml of white vinegar with at least 700ml of warm water. Pour everything into a bottle with a spray dispenser.
- Shake it well and spray the product on the glass to be cleaned. Wipe the surface with a dry cloth.
Advice
- Add essential oils to the cleaners you make (except for the glass cleaner). They will emit a pleasant smell as you clean. Some of the most common? Lavender, thyme, lemon and eucalyptus.
- Borax, also known as sodium borate, is a compound of boron and is a powdered substance. Generally, it is used to make detergents.
