Do you want to spend more time with your friends? Well, a sleepover is a great idea! If you don't know how to organize it, but want it to be a hit, read this article: it offers you games, snacks, movies and other tips to make it the sleepover of the century (but first ask your parents for permission!).
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Prepare the Sleepover
Step 1. Invite your friends
Remember that it is not a birthday party, so don't invite more than 3 people, otherwise it will be difficult to host them and give everyone a place to sleep. Invite only a few close friends trying not to exclude any. It is more fun to be around people you know well and you will feel more comfortable (same goes for them).
- You may only invite one friend, but you'll have more fun with a small group of 3-6 people. Keep this in mind before choosing who to invite and who to exclude. In general, avoid extending the invitation to more than two girls you don't know well, otherwise it could be embarrassing and there is a risk that your closest friends will feel left out.
- Try inviting a girl you want to get to know better. Welcome her warmly so that she feels welcome.
- If you have a hobby or similar interest, use the sleepover to nurture it together to deepen your friendship. For example, if you met a girl at school who loves Harry Potter, you could spend the time reading the book or watching the movie.
- Don't invite the most "popular" girls in school. Unless you're actually friends, their presence isn't a good idea at all. Just because you know a good-looking and highly sought-after person at school, that doesn't mean you will become one too. Besides, what will you ever do that is so exciting? What will your real friends think?
Step 2. Decide on the menu
You will need to prepare dinner, dessert, breakfast, some snacks and drinks. Go to the supermarket just a couple of days before the party so as not to be tempted to devour everything! You can also propose an outing to have an ice cream together, have dinner out or have breakfast at the bar (but not all three!). Do not opt for dishes that are too particular, but choose things that all agree. For example, don't just buy fish or veggie burgers. However, you can present a selection of meat burgers and veggie burgers. In any case, prepare delicious dishes that everyone likes. Here are some food and drink suggestions, but of course you can come up with other ideas too!
-
Dinner: what cannot be missing in a pajama party is pizza. Basically it is the winning choice that everyone will appreciate. In this case, buy a simple one (like the Margherita) and a more seasoned one. You can also decide to cook chicken, pasta, hot dogs or burgers. Orient yourself based on what your friends like, but if you're not sure, pizza never disappoints anyone. If there is a person who doesn't like it, make sure you have an alternative. Sometimes it's fun to make dinner yourself, and while it takes time, it can be very rewarding.
-
Sweet: try to give space to your creativity! It would be great to make dessert during the sleepover - you can choose between ice cream, cupcake or cake. Buy a ready-made base and decorate it or make everything at home. You can also order a dessert at the bakery. This way, you will have more time to devote to other activities.
-
Drinks: water and carbonated drinks cannot be missing. Buy Sprite, Coke, and other sodas. Fruit juice is also a great idea.
-
Snack: of course they cannot be missing. Buy chips, appetizers, vegetables (to be served with sauces or yogurt), popcorn, candy, fruit, etc. In any case, it is preferable to always offer some healthier alternatives. Don't just think about junk foods!
- Breakfast: Make waffles or pancakes or ask your parents for a helping hand. You could also serve some French toast. To drink orange juice and milk will be fine.
Step 3. Plan for the night
If your room is large enough to accommodate all of your friends, that's better. If you all have to sleep there, make sure there is enough space on the floor. It is not fair for your guests to arrange themselves on the floor while you rest comfortably on your bed. Unless the room is large enough, settle down elsewhere. If there is room for everyone in the living room, sleep there. Choose a room in the house where there is a TV, space on the floor and a table to place food and snacks: it will be the best place to sleep and be in company.
In the room you have chosen you will not have to be invaded by siblings or parents. You definitely don't want them to intrude, unless you think it's nice to invite your little sister too. Think about which areas of the house they spend the most time in. However, if they are planning to go out, there will be no problem
Step 4. Clean
Grab a garbage bag and throw out anything you don't need. Put dirty clothes in the laundry basket and clean clothes in the closet. Dust off the TV and get pillows, blankets and sleeping bags. If necessary, vacuum it. Arrange all the snacks in different bowls and arrange them on a table. If you have an iPod, charge it so it's ready when you need it. Also prepare lots of games and movies. You don't have to do any spring cleaning, just make sure the floor is clean and the house presentable.
Don't neglect the bathroom. Your guests will need to use it, so it better be clean and fragrant! Plus, your parents will appreciate the thought. Take out the trash, arrange the carpets, change the toilet paper roll, put on clean soap and towels, and wash the sink. If you can't clean the toilet, ask your parents if they can help you
Part 2 of 3: Entertaining Your Guests
Step 1. Lacquer your nails
Prepare various colors of nail polish and help each other do both manicures and pedicures. Try to decorate your nails with nail art: you will have a lot of fun! Get stickers to make them prettier. Unleash your creativity with colors and designs. Here are some ideas:
- Nails decorated with newsprint;
- Nails decorated with the design of a panda;
- Checkered nails;
- Nails decorated with comic book patterns;
- Nails decorated with Facebook symbols;
- Nails decorated with Harry Potter symbols;
- Nails decorated with the popcorn pattern.
Step 2. Play "truth or dare"
Sit in a circle and play some music if you like. One girl starts by asking another, "Truth or Dare?". In case the second participant chooses "truth", she has to answer an embarrassing question. If she chooses "obligation", however, she must do something that scares her, slightly annoys her or that she considers strange. Remember, though, that questions shouldn't be too personal and that no one should be forced to answer! The same is true for obligations: do not risk dangerous actions. If your guests do not accept the rules, it means that they are not true friends.
- Ideas for "obligations": imitating another person (present or absent); describe a guest using five words and ask the other girls to guess who she is; hold a conversation with a wall.
- Ideas for "truths": what's the most embarrassing thing you've ever done? Who do you have a crush on? What is the worst experience you have ever had? If you could change three things about yourself, what would they be?
Step 3. Make friendship bracelets
They are used to symbolize friendship. It is said that if you cut them, the relationship will be ruined. Tie them loosely so you can take them off when needed.
Step 4. Suggest some games
Everything is fine, the important thing is that it is fun. However, if you want some ideas, try UNO (with your favorite movie), Twister and Cluedo. Play these games if you invite them seem bored, or just for fun! Quickly explain the rules, although some are easy and fairly well known, such as UNO and Twister. Alternatively, you can challenge yourself to video games, such as Minecraft.
Step 5. Watch movies
In a self-respecting pajama party, films are never lacking. You can watch them at night, but not when sleep is coming. Make popcorn, turn off the lights and ask your friends to pick one. You can watch others later, but the first should be the most rated. Of course, make sure everyone wants to see it. Avoid those that are forbidden to minors under 14, especially if your parents don't give you permission to watch them. Here are some interesting suggestions:
- Harry Potter;
- Pirates of the Caribbean;
- The Clique;
- Ella Enchanted - The magical world of Ella;
- Up;
- Despicable Me;
- Another Cinderella Story;
- Elf - An elf named Buddy;
- Mean Girls;
- Videos on YouTube.
Step 6. Make handmade souvenirs
It's another great idea to keep you from getting bored, and then everyone will have a memory of the evening. It is an inexpensive and fun activity. Here are some tips with related instructions:
- Frame your photos: Take a few group shots and frame them. Use wooden frames or glue the photos on a card to decorate with drawings, stickers and glitter. Unleash your creativity. In any case, avoid inappropriate images, otherwise your parents may punish you!
- Necklaces: Prepare threads, beads and scissors to make beautiful necklaces. There are also special kits equipped with elements to make even more beautiful accessories.
- Decorating pillow cases. Get fabric markers, glue, and colored rhinestones. You can write and draw. If you want, ask the guests to sign their own pillowcase.
Step 7. Dance and sing
Turn on the stereo and give your lungs a breather. Of course avoid if your family members are sleeping! In this case, turn the volume down a little. You can also organize a karaoke, a dance or singing contest, but all invited must participate. Make sure they all win, some in one way and some in another. Alternatively, pick a song and try to come up with a choreography. Register with the camera to see you again. If you have a strobosphere or a lighthouse with colored LED lights, turn it on!
Step 8. Disguise yourself
Even if you think you're old to dress up, it's never too late to play! In addition to dressing up, prepare a real fashion show. Get old hats, fake beards, Halloween costumes, wigs, and any suitable clothing. All the girls will take turns taking part in both the parade and the jury. The judgment will focus on style, creativity and all aspects that characterize the costumes (don't be cruel!). You can assign a vote from 1 to 10. Ask each guest to choose which song they prefer to walk on the "catwalk"!
Step 9. Lie down on your sleeping bags and chat
Do it when you feel tired, but you don't want to sleep yet. Tell yourself the latest news and daydream! If no one hurts the susceptibility of the others, you can indulge in some little gossip, talk about your crushes, the girls you don't like, the guys you think are cute, funny or idiotic. You can also browse old photo albums to see how you have changed, or talk about sports (which you like, which you don't) or school (teachers, exams, homework).
If silence falls, tell jokes or horror stories. You could also play "What do you prefer?". Each girl takes turns asking questions of another, such as "What do you prefer: losing an arm or a leg?"; "What do you prefer: kissing Andrea or Matteo?"; "What do you prefer: hitting a glass door in front of Marco or stumbling in front of Simone?"
Step 10. Stock up on snacks
Popcorn, chips, ice cream, fizzy drinks and even pizzas from the rotisserie will do well. If any girl has food allergies, avoid foods that contain allergens.
Step 11. Ballads
If you have a computer and an iPod or iPhone, download some dance songs. Take out your nail polish, and if you have a full makeup set, get that too.
Step 12. Buy some streaming movies
Pick a couple of comedies, some scary and drama movies. In this way, you will make all the guests happy.
Step 13. Choose a spacious room
When the day comes for the sleepover, find a large enough place with a television, like the living room.
Step 14. Think about other situations
When your guests arrive, if there is still light, play outside. Here are some fun games:
- Blob tag: we start with a person who is hooked to another by taking her by the hand and the latter must do the same. When a circle of six is formed, you can split into two groups of three.
- Hide and Seek: One person counts to 30 with their eyes closed and the others go into hiding. Then he has to find and touch them. It is up to count the next time the first person touched or the last found.
- Volleyball, crushers, basketball, etc.
Step 15. Ask your parents if you can light a fire in the garden to tell horror stories, roast marshmallows, and sing along
Avoid the fire if you don't take care of it because you're having fun with your friends. Only organize the bonfire if you can control it as it burns. In fact, let an adult check that everything runs smoothly
Step 16. Plan activities for the evening
When it gets dark, play suitable games or go inside and watch a movie. If you have the plunge pool, you can sneak out at 3am and take a dip. If, on the other hand, it's cold, stay inside and …
- Play "truth or dare";
- Tell horror stories;
- If it's not too late, play pranks on the kids;
- Make yourself beautiful;
- Do some gymnastics exercises.
Step 17. Think about breakfast
The next day, organize a nice breakfast with your friends. Have fun together for a few more hours or until they come for them. Tidy up once they're gone or if you're just your best friend left.
Part 3 of 3: Planning Simple Activities
Step 1. Choose the activity you prefer
Here are some quick and easy ones for your sleepover. You can also choose more than one. You don't need many things to organize them and you can have fun both indoors and outdoors.
Step 2. Prepare some snacks
You can decorate cookies with icing, colored sugared almonds and M & M's. Alternatively, make a mix of pretzels to munch on while watching a movie. Combine pretzels, M & M's, popcorn, raisins, and marshmallows. Speaking of marshmallows, you can also roast them in the garden when it starts to get dark.
Step 3. Get out
Play tag in the dark using flashlights! Instead of personally touching the person who will be eliminated from the game, signal them with the light of the flashlight. If it is summer, run among the sprinklers in the garden if there is no swimming pool. If it's not too late, go for a walk. You could also perform like real gymnasts (make sure everyone can at least do the wheel, otherwise teach them.)
Step 4. Have fun indoors
Don't worry if it's raining outside, because you can watch some movies. Put your make-up on each other without using the mirror (but then take off your make-up). Pretend to be a hairdresser: make braids, ponytails or buns using rubber bands, barrettes and hair clips. If you get bored, play charades. Create videos or take lots of photos. The Wii is also a good idea: try Mario Kart, Wii Sports and Just Dance 2, but any other game will do. Hide and seek is ideal and requires no preparation.
Advice
- Plan your sleep supplies in advance. Choose the place to put all the sleeping bags. In this way you will save time and you will not risk at the last moment to discover that there is no space for some guests.
- Buy some glow sticks and turn off the lights. Create a tent using blankets, chairs and sheets, then turn on the stereo by playing some strange songs. Give each guest a light stick while the light is still on. Turn it off and each of you will have to guess who is holding the stick. You will also have a lot of fun adding some variations.
- Before the sleepover, ask your friends which movies they prefer.
- Take lots of videos and photos to review later. They will be wonderful memories. You could even put this material together by making a movie!
- Before the sleepover, ask all the guests which songs they want to listen to and put them on a playlist.
- Try the classic pillow fight.
- Don't be overbearing. Express your thoughts by saying, "I have an idea. Maybe we could …" instead of "Let's do … Come on!".
- Make sure none of your friends are allergic to pets or the food you plan to prepare. There is a risk that someone will not come!
- If you don't have decent movies, turn on the television. Watch a show that everyone likes. You can also choose a show.
- As for the invitations, you can print them on your computer, write them by hand or buy them ready-made and fill them out.
Warnings
- If a girl falls asleep, don't wake her up. If she is tired, let her rest. Don't play a joke on her while she sleeps, especially if you know she might be upset.
- Don't exclude anyone from games or conversations.
- As for "truth or dare", no girl should be forced to do inappropriate or disgusting things or reveal embarrassing secrets.
- Don't be overbearing. Even if you have everything planned, your guests have the right to propose some activities. Let them pick something to do.
- You may get caught going out or playing prank calls. Avoid if your parents are strict. If I agree, that's okay. However, don't get punished.
- Do not overdo it. It's just a sleepover. It is useless to organize too many games, because at some point you will get tired. Sometimes just sit back and chat.
- Be careful when making dessert or breakfast. If necessary, ask your parents for help.
- Make sure at least one of your parents is home and ask him if you can throw the sleepover. Give him the list of girls you want to invite so you can get his approval.
- Do not stay up all night, otherwise you will be destroyed the next day. Try to get some sleep at least.
- Before choosing the movies, make sure all your friends can see them, otherwise you could get in trouble!
