Using coconut oil allows you to save quite a bit compared to classic flea products on the market, and also involves fewer health risks for your dog.
Steps
Step 1. Find a Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
This oil contains linoleic acid, which kills and keeps fleas away. You can find it in a well-stocked supermarket, pharmacy, herbalist's shop, organic or ethnic products shops and on the internet.
Step 2. Take about a tablespoon at a time
If coconut oil is stored in a warm environment or room, it will be liquid and clear. If the oil is kept in a cooler environment, then it will be white and look like lard.
Step 3. Take some and rub it between your hands to give it a more oily texture if it is in a white, lard-like state
If, otherwise, it is already liquid, put a small amount in a small container and then collect it a little at a time with your fingers.
Step 4. Rub it into your dog's coat or skin where it has fleas, dry, scaly skin, itchy bruises, or hairless patches
The oil will be, in fact, "oily" and almost volatile, try as much as you can to make it penetrate the hair and apply it well on the dog's skin. The fleas will die within 5 minutes.
Step 5. Take some more with your hands and apply it on the top coat, as well as on the belly
Step 6. Cover your dog with a sweater and let him keep it all day or night to let the oil work and prevent the dog from licking and removing it
Coconut oil tastes good, and the dog will be attracted to it: you can rest assured because even if ingested, coconut oil is completely safe, unlike the classic flea fleas on the market.
