If you only have coconut cream in your pantry while you need coconut milk, don't despair! Read this article to run for cover.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Coconut Cream and Water
Step 1. Buy or get the coconut cream can from the pantry
Step 2. Open the can and pour it evenly into two bowls
Step 3. Add water to each bowl
The amount will depend on the consistency you want to achieve. It is better to pour in small amounts and proceed gradually instead of overdoing it.
Step 4. Thoroughly mix the coconut cream and water
The consistency should be smooth and similar to that of coconut milk!
Step 5. Use it or keep it
In the latter case, pour it into a suitable container or jar (the important thing is that it has a lid) and put it in the refrigerator. Do not leave it for more than a few days, or it will go bad.
Method 2 of 2: Coconut Cream and Coconut Water
Using coconut water instead of natural water will sweeten the milk, which will taste even stronger than that bought at the supermarket. And the cost will be pretty much the same.
Step 1. Choose the right coconut cream
Choose the packaging that's right for you.
Step 2. Open the can
Pour it evenly into two bowls.
Step 3. Add coconut water to each bowl
Mix according to an approximate proportion: 50ml of cream to 200-250ml of packaged coconut water.
Step 4. Vigorously flip or shake the mix
At this point you will get the coconut milk.
Step 5. Use it or keep it
In the latter case, put it in the fridge or follow the freezer method, indicated in the "Tips" section.
Advice
- To freeze cream or coconut milk, pour it into an ice tray with a capacity of approximately 50 ml. It will come in handy when you need this amount. It will not spoil in the freezer.
- Coconut milk prepared in this way can be used in any recipe that includes this ingredient.
