The Timex Expedition is a type of digital outdoor watch with a stopwatch, alarm and timer. There are twenty-four different models, but to set them you proceed in a very similar way: by pressing a series of combinations of buttons on the watch itself.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Set up a Timex Digital Clock
Step 1. Enter "Time" mode
Press the "Mode" button until you enter "Time" mode. The "Mode" button is located on the lower left side of the front of the watch. If you are in "Stopwatch" or "Alarm" mode, you cannot set the time. Keep pressing the "Mode" button until the four numbers indicating the time appear.
The time you will see in "Time" mode may not be correct (after all, your purpose is to set it). However, you can check that this is in fact "Time" mode by verifying that there is a seconds counter on the right side of the watch
Step 2. Press "Set"
Press the "Set" button and hold it down until the "time zone" flashes on the display. The "Set" button is located on the upper left side of the front of the watch.
At this point you will also have the option to set daylight saving or solar time. Make your choice depending on the case
Step 3. Choose your time zone
Press the "Plus" or "Minus" button to choose the time zone you are in. These buttons are located on the top and bottom of the right front of the watch, respectively.
Step 4. Set the correct time
Press the "Mode" button. The digits corresponding to the "hour" will start flashing on the display. Now press the "Plus" or "Minus" button to set the correct time.
Step 5. Set the correct minutes and seconds
Once the time is set correctly, press the "Mode" button. You will see that the "minutes" digits will now flash on the display. Press the "Plus" or "Minus" button to set the correct minutes.
If you really want to be precise, you can hit the "Mod" button and one more time and set the exact seconds. Once the "Mode" button is pressed, the "seconds" digits will start flashing just like in the previous cases. Press the "Plus" or "Minus" button to reset the seconds or to synchronize them with another watch
Step 6. Set the month and date
If you want to enter the correct month and date, press the "Mode" button after setting the "seconds". The day of the week will start flashing. Set it, press "Mode" again and the month will start flashing. Press "Mode" once more and the year will start flashing.
Be careful not to press "Mode" too many times, otherwise you may skip a step. If this happens to you, you will have to redo all the previous steps
Step 7. Press the "Set" button to finish setting the clock and exit this mode
You can press the "Set" button at any time if you don't want to set the seconds, month or date
Method 2 of 2: Set up an Expedition Analog Watch
Step 1. Locate the crown of your Expedition analog watch
To set the time and date on this watch you will first need to locate the crown, which looks like a small circular disc placed on the side of the watch. By pulling this disc out of the body of the clock you can set both the time and the date.
- Pulling the crown all the way out will allow you to adjust the time.
- By pulling the crown out halfway to the central position, you can set the date.
- Pushing the crown back in will restart the watch with the time and date you set.
Step 2. Set the clock to the correct time
Once you have located the crown, you can use it to set the time. Using the crown to set the time is a simple process: you will have to pull it all the way out and rotate it until the hands of the watch are positioned at the correct time. Proceed as follows:
- Pull the crown out to the outermost position, pulling it out to the maximum limit.
- With the crown in this position, you can rotate it and adjust the hands of the watch.
- Rotate the crown until the hands are positioned at the correct time.
- Push the crown back in by pushing it into the watch to restart it.
Step 3. Set date and day
To set the date and day on the watch you will first need to locate the crown and then pull it out and rotate it until you see the correct date. Proceed as follows:
- Locate the crown and pull it out to the center position, which is half of its length.
- Turn it clockwise until you see the correct date.
- If the date does not change, pull the crown out to the outermost position and bring the hands forward while remaining within 24 hours.
- Return the crown to the neutral position by pushing it all the way into the watch.
