Just can't get your kids to eat boiled green beans? With this simple recipe you can turn a boring-looking dish into a delicious yet healthy recipe.
Ingrediants
- 2-3 cloves of garlic
- ~ 30ml of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- salt
- Freshly ground black pepper (optional)
- 450 g of fresh green beans
Steps
Step 1. Prepare the green beans by removing the ends
Step 2. Cut them into pieces approximately 3-5 cm in length
Step 3. Wash the green beans under cold water
Step 4. Bring water to a boil in a large pot
Step 5. When the water is boiling vigorously, add the green beans
The boiling will be temporarily interrupted due to the temperature of the green beans.
Step 6. Wait about 5-30 seconds for the water to boil again, then pour the green beans into a colander
Adjust the cooking time according to the softness you want to give your green beans. A prolonged cooking time produces soft green beans, a shorter cooking time produces crunchy green beans.
Step 7. Peel and wash the garlic, then chop finely
Step 8. In a pan, heat the extra virgin olive oil
Wait for it to reach the desired temperature and turn bright.
Step 9. Pour the minced garlic into the oil and brown it
Be very careful as hot oil may splash.
Step 10. Add the green beans to the pan as soon as the garlic is sufficiently browned
Cook them by turning them frequently using a spatula or a pair of kitchen tongs. Use medium heat.
Step 11. After about a minute, season with salt and pepper to taste
Don't forget to mix and taste to make sure you've added enough salt.
Step 12. Cook the green beans for as long as you want, giving them the crunchiness you want
Be careful not to burn them.
Step 13. Finished
