While installing Minecraft doesn't take up much space, there are many reasons why you want to uninstall it from your device. If you plan to reinstall Minecraft in the future, you can back up your saves before uninstalling; in this way you just need to install the software to have access again to all the worlds created within the game. The process for uninstalling Minecraft from your computer differs slightly from the uninstallation procedure for most programs.
Steps
Method 1 of 5: Windows
Step 1. Back up your saves (optional)
If you have planned to reinstall Minecraft in the future, surely you want to have the files related to the worlds created within the game.
- Press the key combination ⊞ Win + R, then type the command% appdata% in the "Open" field of the appeared window and press the Enter key.
- Access the.minecraft folder.
- Copy the saves folder to a path of your choice. When you reinstall Minecraft, to have access to all the created worlds, you will have to copy the "saves" folder back to the same path of origin.
Step 2. Try uninstalling Minecraft as you would any other Windows program
The new version of Minecraft uses the "Windows Installer" tool, so the program will appear in the list of programs installed on your system and can be uninstalled via the "Control Panel":
- Access the "Start" menu and choose the "Control Panel" item. Windows 8 users can use the charms sidebar to select the "Settings" item and choose the "Control Panel" option.
- Select the "Uninstall a program" link or the "Programs and Features" icon. This will display the complete list of programs installed on your computer. The list takes a few moments to load.
- Select the item "Minecraft" from the list that appeared. If the program is not listed, go to the next step.
- Press the Uninstall button and follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the uninstallation of Minecraft.
Step 3. Press the key combination

Alternatively you can access the "Start" menu and select the "Run" item.
Step 4. In the "Open" field, type the command

This way you will have direct access to the "Roaming" folder.
Step 5. Drag the folder

Alternatively, select the folder in question with the right mouse button and choose "Delete" from the context menu that appeared. This way the uninstallation of Minecraft will be complete.
Method 2 of 5: Mac OS X
Step 1. Go to a "Finder" window

Step 3. Type the path
~ / Library / Application Support / and press the button Enter.

Step 2. Open a "Terminal" window
In Ubuntu, you can do this quickly by using the key combination Ctrl + Alt + T.
Step 3. In the "Terminal" window, type the command
rm -vr ~ /.minecraft / * and press the button Enter.
You may need to enter the system administrator user password. This command will delete all Minecraft files from your computer.
Method 4 of 5: iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch
Step 1. Back up your saves (optional)
If you have planned to reinstall Minecraft in the future, surely you want to have the files related to the worlds created within the game. In the case of Apple devices, this procedure requires the use of a computer, unless the device in question has been jailbroken. If you just want to uninstall the application, you can skip this step.
- Download and install iExplorer. You can install the free version by going to the following website macroplant.com/iexplorer/. If you are using a Windows system, you will also need to install iTunes.
- Connect the device to the computer using a USB data cable. Log in to your phone if you have enabled PIN code lock.
- Select your device icon, then expand the relevant "Apps" section.
- Expand the following folders in sequence: "Minecraft PE", "Documents", "games" and finally "com.mojang".
- Copy the MinecraftWorlds folder to a location of your choice. When you reinstall Minecraft, to have access to all created worlds, you will need to copy the "MinecraftWorlds" folder back to the same source path.
Step 2. Press and hold the Minecraft PE application icon until all icons on the screen begin to animate
Step 3. Select the "X" symbol placed on the Minecraft PE icon to uninstall the relevant application
Method 5 of 5: Android
Step 1. Back up your saves (optional)

- Access the file system of your Android device. To do this you can use a file manager, such as "ES File Explorer", or connect the device to your computer.
- Access the games folder, then select the com.mojang folder.
- Copy the MinecraftWorlds folder to a location of your choice. When you reinstall Minecraft, to have access to all created worlds, you will need to copy the "MinecraftWorlds" folder back to the same source path.
Step 2. Go to your device's "Settings"
Step 3. Select the "Apps" or "Applications" item
Step 4. From the list of "Downloaded" applications that appeared, locate and select the "Minecraft Pocket Edition" item
