Temple Run is a game for iOS and Android that has become a worldwide hit. It is a conceptually very simple game, but it can sometimes be a bit complicated. With a little practice and some good advice, you can beat your friends' scores! Have fun!
Steps
Step 1. Download Temple Run
As this is a very popular game, just search the App Store or Google Play. It doesn't take up much space, so the download should also be pretty fast with a decent connection. And it's free too!
Step 2. Start the game
By opening the game you will be immediately taken to the introduction page. Here you can choose to look at the achievements, stats, options, store, or browse other games made by Imagi. You can also jump right into the game by clicking the Play button.
Step 3. Keep running
When you click on the Play button you will find that you have already stolen the idol (as explained on the introductory page). That said, the purpose of Temple Run is to be able to escape with the precious idol. During the game you will find yourself facing a variety of obstacles, such as tree roots, fire-breathing gargoyles and much more. You will also be chased by "Demonic Monkeys". They are always behind you, and if you stumble too many times they could catch up with you and end the game in defeat.
Step 4. Follow the tutorial
At the beginning of the escape from the monkeys, you will have to follow a short tutorial. Take the time to learn the basic rules of Temple Run. The controls are very simple, and include swiping your finger across the screen and tilting the device.
- To turn left or right, simply slide your finger across the screen in the direction you want. If you turn too slowly you will fall off the edge of the temple.
- To jump over logs, ropes, fire or ravines you have to slide your finger up. This way you will make a small jump.
- To slide under the trees, fire and ropes, slide your finger down.
- Tilt the device left or right to move the character to the sides of the screen. This is necessary if you want to collect coins or if the temple surface is broken in half.
Step 5. Collect coins whenever possible
Coins are very important for improving your skills and increasing your speed, and are also used to purchase upgrades. However, remember that if you have already achieved a good score, it is best to focus only on avoiding obstacles
There is a counter next to the game screen. As you collect coins the meter fills up, and when it is full you will get a score bonus
Step 6. Acquire Store Credits
Each time you finish a game, a portion of your score is added to your "Store Credits". With these credits, you can purchase upgrades, backgrounds and accessories. Enter the store from the Main Menu, which you can open from the Game Over screen.
- There are three different backgrounds to collect. The Temple (5,000 coins), Guy Dangerous (5,000 coins), and the Evil Monkey (5,000 coins).
- Other characters that can be unlocked are (10, 000 coins), Barry Bones (10, 000 coins), Karma Lee (25, 000 coins), Montana Smith (25, 000 coins), Francisco Montoya (25, 000 coins), and Zach Wonder (25,000 coins).
- There are three items that can be purchased: Immediate Resurrection after death (500 coins), Speed increase for 1000m at the start of the game (2500 coins), and Superior speed increase for 2500m at the start of the game (10000 coins).
Step 7. Purchase upgrades
This is a simple way to increase your score. The power-ups appear as floating icons along the path of the temple, jump to try to catch them. While these boosts are very useful, they have a very short duration. If there is an upgrade that you particularly like, you can continually improve it by purchasing upgrades with coins. There are five power-ups in Temple Run.
- Mega Coin: The icon will automatically give you additional coins
- Coin Magnet: For a limited time, you will attract coins to you regardless of where they are.
- Invisibility: For a limited time, you won't have to jump or slide. But don't forget that you will have to keep running!
- Boost: When you take the speed icon, your character will run much faster, automatically avoiding obstacles, You just have to observe!
Step 8. Complete the objectives
The game may seem monotonous, but there are also many objectives that you can complete to get bonuses. These goals include collecting a certain number of points (Adventurer), reaching a certain distance (Sprinter), and more.
Advice
- If the path is broken in half, you can jump to one side. This way you will have a little more time to move around.
- You will be able to play better if you are in a quiet room where you can concentrate on the screen.
- When playing, try to stay in a position where you have freedom of movement.
