This tutorial shows you how to insert a piece of music into a PowerPoint presentation.
Steps
Step 1. This tutorial uses PowerPoint 2007 as an example, although the process for PowerPoint 2003 is still very similar
Step 2. Insert the audio file (the file will play from slides 5 to 8, assuming that the presentation consists of a total of 20 slides)
Step 3. Select slide number 5
Access the 'Insert' menu and select the 'Audio' item, then choose the 'Sound from file…' option. Now select the audio file you want to insert into your presentation.
Step 4. Within the dialog box that appears, you can decide how you want the audio file to be played within the PowerPoint presentation
Press the 'Automatically' button.
Step 5. From the PowerPoint ribbon, select the 'Animation' tab, then choose the 'Custom Animation' option
Step 6. From the 'Custom Animation' panel that appeared, select the down arrow button next to the selected song
Choose the item 'Effect Options' from the context menu that appeared.
Step 7. From the dialog box that appeared, select the 'Effect' tab, and choose the 'After [number] slides' option, located in the 'Stop playback' section
In the field relating to the number of the slide after which to stop playback, type the number 8 (in the case of our example).
Step 8. Now select the 'Interval' tab and choose the 'End slide' option for the 'Repeat' field
Step 9. After finishing this setup, the selected audio file will be played automatically during slide show 5-6-7-8
If you want to insert a second piece of music, follow the same procedure by selecting the audio file you want.
