This article explains how you can enlarge text, images, or other objects displayed on a Windows computer screen.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using an Internet Browser
Step 1. Launch an internet browser
The most commonly used browsers on PCs are Internet Explorer, Edge, Google Chrome and Firefox.
Step 2. Click on the View menu
It is located on the menu bar that appears at the top of the program window.
- If you are using Firefox, press the alt="Image" key to display the menu bar and the "View" menu.
- If you are using Chrome, click on the "⋮" button, located in the upper right corner of the window to display the menu where you will find the "Zoom" option.
Step 3. Click on the Zoom item
It is located in the center of the drop-down menu that appeared.
Step 4. Click on the Zoom In option
It is located at the top of the newly appeared menu.
- In most browsers you can use the key combination Ctrl ++ to activate the "Zoom in" function. Each time you press the + key while holding down the Ctrl key, the content displayed in the browser window will grow progressively larger until it reaches the maximum zoom level.
- If you are using a mouse with a wheel, you can control the zoom level by holding down the Ctrl key while moving it.
Step 5. Select the zoom level you want
The text, images and objects that are displayed in the browser window can be enlarged according to your preferences. Choose the zoom percentage you need.
Step 6. Press the key combination Ctrl + "0" to restore the default size of the contents displayed in the browser window

Method 2 of 2: Use the Windows Magnifier App
Step 1. Open the Windows search bar
- If you are using Windows 8 and Windows 10, press the key combination ⊞ Win + S.
- If you are using Windows 7, click on the "Start" button located in the lower left corner of the desktop.
Step 2. Click on the search bar that appeared
Step 3. Type in the keywords "magnifying glass"
Step 4. Click the Magnifying Glass icon
It is displayed within the search results list.
Step 5. Use the app slider to adjust the zoom percentage
It is displayed inside the small "Magnifying Glass" window. This will activate the magnifying glass and you can select the zoom level you prefer.
Step 6. Click the Views button
Step 7. Select the view mode
If you are using a mouse or trackpad, you can choose one of the following options:
- Full screen - the effects of the "Magnifier" app will be extended to the entire screen;
- Lens - in this case you will feel like you have a real magnifying glass at your disposal that you can move along the entire area of the screen to enlarge the sections you want;
- Anchored - in this way the screen will be divided into two sections: the first will display the "Magnifier" app window with the zoom level you have chosen, while the second will display the computer screen in normal viewing mode. This operation option is not available in Windows 7.
