This article teaches you how to delete the photos you sent through the Facebook instant message application. Deleting images from the chat you are viewing does not allow you to also remove them from the one displayed by your interlocutor.
Steps
Step 1. Open Messenger
The application is marked with a blue balloon icon with a white lightning bolt inside.
Step 2. Tap the conversation you are interested in
Choose the one that contains the photos you want to delete.
Step 3. Tap and briefly hold the image
This way you have access to a menu.
If you have a 3D Touch device, such as an iPhone 7, you need to activate this menu with a light pressure and not a firm touch
Step 4. Choose Delete
The system will ask you to confirm the operation.
Step 5. Tap Delete
The selected image will be deleted from your conversation.
- If you delete a photo you sent, the other person continues to see a copy of it, but anyone who logs into your Messenger account can't see it.
- As of February 2017, it is no longer possible to delete images from Messenger through the Facebook desktop site, unless you delete the entire conversation.
