This guide explains how to apply the fireworks effect to iMessages exchanged between two iPhones.
Steps
Step 1. Open the iPhone Messages app
The icon is green with a white balloon.
Step 2. Press a conversation to open it
If you'd rather start a new one, press the pencil and notepad icon in the upper right corner of the screen instead, then type the recipient's name.
If the Messages app opens to a conversation other than the one you are interested in, press the "Back" arrow in the upper left corner of the screen to return to the "Messages" page
Step 3. Type your message
You can do this by pressing the text field at the bottom of the screen, then using the on-screen keyboard.
Step 4. Press and hold the blue "Submit" arrow
You will find it to the right of the text field. This will open the special effects screen.
If the button is green, you or the recipient are using regular text messages and not Apple messages
Step 5. Press Screen
You will find the button in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 6. Swipe left four times
This will select the effect of the fireworks.
Step 7. Press the blue "Submit" arrow
This will send the message. When the recipient receives it, they will see fireworks behind the text.
Advice
From the page Screen, you can select other effects, such as lasers, balloons and confetti.
Warnings
- For the recipient to see the message correctly, their phone must be updated to iOS version 10.
- As more effects are added in the future, the number of taps required to select fireworks may change.
